Overview

If you are looking for ideas on how to improve your outlook or come to terms with your current difficulties, this book was written with you in mind. After being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis- the debilitating autoimmune disease for which there is no cure- the author went through the "normal" stages of grief. After months of grieving for "what might have been", she realized that it was up to her to choose how she would live with this diagnosis. When she decided to search for the good in her life rather than mourning the losses, she began blogging about her journey and soon found that there were many others out there who were also determined to live with rather than suffer from their situations. It is from that blog that the idea for this book was born. Whether you are dealing with chronic illness, divorce, loss of a loved one or any other of the myriad of life challenges, finding a way to see and focus on the blessings in your life can help you face the difficulties head on.

Meet the Author

Julie Faulds is determined to make the most of her life and find a way to fight Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia until such time as a cure is found. It is that same determination that has lead her on a journey toward peace and happiness in the face of adversity that she shares with her readers both on her blog and now in books.

In her daily life, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, parents and dogs in Southern Indiana as well as her son, sisters and the rest of the family when they are able to visit. She loves curling up with a cup of coffee and a good book and losing herself in the written words. She also loves geocaching, fishing, and a job well done. It is her family and closest friends that gave her the courage to pursue her childhood dream of writing.

A must read for not only for anyone with a debilitating disease, but also for anyone in a tough situation. In an inspiring way, the author honestly chronicals her own journey and shows how she went from living the life of a victim, to living her best life.

The author of this book delves into the emotional side of living with a chronic debilitating illness in a way that is open and honest. There is a definitive time from moving from being a victim into empowering herself to live a full life despite the circumstances. The research she has done on the power of thoughts is extensive and she gives practical advice on ho to implement the power of positivity in your own life. It is not just another self help book that deals in the abstract and leaves you wondering how to apply it. The tools she gives are beneficial not just for those dealing with RA but can be applied throughout any difficult time in your life, whether it be grief, depression, or divorce. It is a must read.

The author obviously has done her homework in dealing with this crippling disease in order to meet the challenges of it head on. This is her story --- not someone else's and she makes it clear that what works for her may not work for everyone else. But -- her positive attitude appears to be rather infectious. I recommend this read to people with any chronically debillitating problem whether it be physical, spiritual, or emotional. It's not a cure all but it is a wonderful tool.

This book really brings home to those of us who don't have a chronic illness what it is like for those who do. I gained some really important insights into what my loved ones are going thru, and I certainly have a lot more understanding of the issues they had to face. Definitely an enlightening read.
