Meet the Author

As Founder and CEO of The Christian Women’s Leadership Exchange, the parent company to Great Women of God Abroad (2009), Sherell leverages her expertise in entrepreneurship, business management and community development to provide support for other Christian women hoping to start or expand Christian ministries of their own. She is currently writing a book series, “Chronicles of A Broken Spirit” that was released February 2011.

Sherell combines a pragmatic, common-sense approach to business with an extensive background in counseling, career consultation and family services. This gives her a unique insight into the opportunities and challenges faced by women leaders who carry enormous loads of responsibility and accountability, yet often tend to receive less support from their communities. These challenges and opportunities are often cited in the four blogs she created and manages.

Prior to founding CWLE /GWGA, Sherell served on numerous community projects, including the Florida Department of Children and Families EEO Committee; the Sista’ 2 Sister teen mentorship program; and HandsOn Jacksonville’s Blueprint for Leadership project. Sherell recently applied her more than 10 years of experience in project management, fiscal oversight and corporate relationship building to successfully set up her own transportation company, Jacksonville-based AGC Transport & Services, LLC (2008).

Sherell holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University (1998) and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology (1994) from the University of North Florida.

She enjoys being a parent, reader, traveler and problem solver.

The first book (Volume I) was about marriage, divorce, love and spirituality. This edition focuses on choosing a career, and having a professional live that lives in harmony with your spiritual life. As Christians, it's very easy to rationalize working for a company that has values that we disagree with. We all need to eat and make a living, so we can turn a blind eye to the issues that working for this kind of company can represent. What we don't realize is how much this is damaging our souls, and how that cost to ourselves is more expensive, in the long run, than we ever imagined. For anyone who worries about the spiritual health, Christian or not, this is a very uplifting and thought-provoking book.
