Overview

America in the Roaring 20s. On the surface, it's a positive, peaceful time after the violence of the Great War. But lurking in the shadows is a dark element ready to snatch that peace away. Sister Rosette Christopher, an exorcist working as a part of the Magdala Order, has a duty to fight the demons which appear and cause destruction. But along with her companion Chrono, she usually ends up causing more destruction than the demons themselves! On one particular mission, they meet a young girl with a beautiful voice named Azmaria, who is being targeted by her own stepfather. As Rosette and Chrno work to save her, more is revealed about the relationship between them. There is more to these two than meets the eye.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a very easy read with each 'act' playing out like a complete episode with a bigger story waiting in the rafters. The characters are very likable. The hot headed Sister Rosette investigates and fights demons in the 1920s with the help of Chrono who quickly steals the show as more is revealed about him and their relationship. I very much plan to to follow this series to see where it can go from such a great beginning.

Chrono Crusade is truly the best manga I've ever read. It is packed with humor, love, friendship, trust, suspense, and anything else anyone could want in a manga or a piece of writing. The characters are all interesting and fun(my favorites are the gun-toting nun, Rosette, and her partner, Chrono). I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys anime, manga, or just reading! If you get this book, believe me, you won't regret it.

Chrono Crusade has to be one of the BEST mangas I've ever seen, and (more to the point) read. Chrono Crusade has the most beautiful artwork and the most captivating story line! I found Chrono Crusade by complete accident while I was trying to find pictures of devil winged anime guys for a manga and book I've been writing. Naturally a picture of Chrono-san came up and I've been hooked ever since. The plot is thrilling, the characters are so deeply developed..this is perhaps the best manga that has hit America in the last ... 5 years. Chrono Crusade is my absolute favorite manga (and that's no small list) of all time.

Hey, it was great. The whole thing is stupid, funny, and serious all raped up in a nun costume. Where else can you get this kind of fun. Even guys can enjoy the action and adventure, while the ladies can enjoy the plot. Have fun!

This is one of the best manga series that I've ever read. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is engaging and really pulls you in. The style of illustration is wonderful, too. Nothing I could possibly complain about! One of my favorites.

I found out about this anime on accident and immediately fell in love. Then, when I found the book, I went completely nuts! This has to be one of the BEST mangas out there! A perfect mixture of humor, drama, and devils (demons)!

If you have seen the anime 'Chrno Crusade' simply forget about it and read the ORIGINAL manga instead. The story of the manga, besides being completely different (and highly superior) to that of the anime (no absurd plot holes, anti-climatic deaths, filler episodes or gratuitous fanservice), has a lot of character development, offers a good insight into the personalities of each one of the characters (even the secondary ones) and has a fluid, more elaborated storyline. The manga gives a whole new meaning to all the religious terms it uses, unlike the anime, which simply borrowed all the terms of the manga and actually used them in their original religious context, with rather disastrous and confusing consequences. I highly recomend the manga, it's simply excellent. You will not be dissappointed!!

This is a wonderful start to one of the best anime series I have ever seen. A very dark and mysterious story doesn't overshadow this title's humor. I found myself laughing out loud at points, a feat very rarely found to occur. If you are even the slightest fan of anime you must read this manga!!!

I really can't praise this wonderful series enough. The first volume serves as an introduction for a much darker, highly emotional series, yet is still excellent, full of action and lots of funny moments. The characters are very well written, three dimensional and each one with a very complicated past that gets revealed little by little in the following volumes. In this series nothing is what it seems, but you have to read it for yourself to fully appreciate it. I'm sure everyone is going to fall in love with the characters, most specially Rosette, a strong-willed, optimistic, cheerful person who never gives up, despite her tragic past and uncertain future; and Chrono, a kind and loyal person who supports Rosette in every way possible, keeping all his troubles and his dark past for himself. The story is also excellent, full of twists and very addictive. The artwork is also great. I highly recomend this series, I consider it as one of the best mangas I've read.
