I really enjoyed this novel, especially since it takes place in Washington, DC and the Metropolitan surrounding area. It's a fast pace riveting story that will keep you up all night until you finish the book. The author has great writing skills and masterfully tells the story of two women, one good and the other evil who are caught up in a love triangle. The plot is strong and the other characters support the storyline well. I highly recommend this novel and look forward to reading more of Ms. Carey's works in the future. Kudos to the author.

This was a pretty good book!! You will love Sabrina and her spunky sister Trisha!! This book is about love, relationships and keeping the faith. There needs to be a second book so we can see what happens to the sisters and their relationship with Blair...119pages -ThatDamnJonesGirl

It was a quick read. The characters were ok. The storyline seemed familiar and the twist was not a shocker to anyone. It was a something to do but definitely not a must-read.

Michelle Carey's debut novel Church Chick was a rather good read. Church Chick had the main character Sabrina Sloan who came from a very religious family. She was not able to do many things because her over protective and over bearing religious mother doesn't allow Sabrina to live her own life. She controls what she wants her to do and how, she even had say as to who Sabrina should marry. Despite how she feels Sabrina continues with the marriage to an older Deacon of the her church. On her wedding night, the Deacon unexpectedly dies and Sabrina feels relieved that she doesn't have to continue on with the marriage and that now she is truly free to find real love and happiness. Living years of being dull and having a boring life, this makes Sabrina realize she is yearning for excitement. When Sabrina makes some new friends her once perfect Church girl image begins to become gloomy. Will she be able to maintain this new lifestyle or will it become to much for Ms. Sloan? I enjoyed the story. I felt Sabrina was naive but I guess that came from her up bringing and her mother never allowing her to enjoy herself. Sabrina was a grown woman but she was still being told what to do and what she should do. Her sister was the total opposite of her. in reading this there were times that I wish Sabrina had had a backbone to stand up for herself and say what she wanted, but she never did. When she finally decides to find excitement in her life it was like reading about a teenager who drank and dated for the first time. As she finds this new excitement in her life she kinds of finds herself along the way. She makes new friends who she thinks are really genuine to her. I do start to like who Sabrina turns into towards the end of the book once it seems like she has finally discovered who shes is. There were a lot of grammatical errors in the story, words missing, tense switching, I wish the book would have been edited a little better so I could have rated it better. Also, the ending somehow seemed a little rushed and if theres not going to be a part 2 I dont think it should have just ended like that and Im assuming there wont be a part 2 because it said the end. I would have liked to see something happen to Blaire for all she did. But, I will say some parts of the ending was kind of sweet. Overall it was a good read and I did enjoy it. **Nook Readers**

The plot of the book was great. I enjoyed the majority of it. I just could not get over the ending. It seemed as if the author got tired and just stopped. Also the typos were plentiful, they made some parts of the book hard to follow.

This has to be one of the dumbest books I've ever read,it was horrible. Now I see why it was only for $.99 cents, the book made no sense what so ever. I see the over all rating for this book was 5 stars, you've got to be kidding me right?! Im not one to stop reading a book once I start, this is the only reason why I read it from start to finish. It wasnt an easy process though. I hope this author doesnt waste anymore of her time writing books because shes clearly not good at it. Ppl pleaseeeee Im begging you, save your dollar for Buger King! Most books starts off slow and then picks up in the middle, this book picked up at the END and it was so corny.
