CriticasPreS-Getting "into" these petite books is easy. In the style of Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the authors have designed finger holes through all the pages, perfect for little hands to go exploring. The illustrators successfully limit the amount of detail on each page, sketching heavy black lines to outline each character. Appealing animal characters and easily recognizable rhyming patterns will attract preschoolers again and again. The silly yet fun texts have a rhythmic, limerick style that breaks the language into bite-size pieces. The first story is a celebration of the wonderful dancing cats belonging to Don Meliton; the second is about the different products that sheep provide for us; and the third is about a mother wolf caring for her cubs. Recommended for bookstores and early childhood educational settings.
