    FED UP

Look, I've kept quiet long enough. I am sick and tired of what is happening to this series. I'm sixteen and have been reading the series since it came out. For some reason, I'm still addicted to it. The BIGGEST mistake the authors made was to write "The horse of her dreams." It completely threw the series off track and it hasn't been able to go back to what it used to be. I started to get my hopes up when they published Without Wonder, but it didn't go any farther. The second big mistake Joanna Campbell made was pawning the series off to other writers. Half the reason these books have gone in the tank is that there is no consistant writer, therefore no consistant plot. The time it is taking to the derby is absurd. Besides, if you are any sort of reader, you already know who is going to win (hint hint). Anways, this book isn't TOO bad, but it seems to go in circles. There was really no real danger of losing Champion, they got all worked up over nothing. I wish Cindy and Ben would get something going, the romance in this series has been zero. Also, I don't get why Cindy hated Wolf so much. I actually liked him. At least there is someone with some brains in this series. One more thing- I really wish the authors could tell us what happened during the time we missed. There were so many good characters that just evaporated: Max, Wonder's foals, Honor Bright, Jeremy, Shining, etc. There almost needs to be an extention of the series, like Ashleigh, to make up that gap of ten years. But, the authors need to SPEED TB UP!

    HURRY UP ALREADY!

I've read these books from 1-13 then i skipped a few but the point is really fading.in the early books(take #3)Wonder went from being a maiden 2 year old to winning the Derby. And why aren't any of Wonder's foals like Mr. Wonderful or Pride or Princess ever mentioned.I know pride is a stud at Whitebrook but they never mention him.And what happened to Linda and Chad and Jilly and Craig and Rory? It's not like they just evaporated into thin air or anything, but it never mentions them after Wonder has Champion. And what happened to Goddess? All the original characters are dissapearing.I mean they should have a reunion or something. And why does Ben show up in book 47 after more than 10 years. Why can't Cindy realize she's still in love with Ben?Mypiont is the whole series is losing the point. The road to the Derby started in book like 38 and it's book 54 come on!In three books Wonder had won the Derby!I think that Joanna Campbell wrote the best Thoroughbred books. They are just moving so slow.Speed it up already!

    ok

this book was ok but its taking FOREVER to get to the derby and its getting me kind of annoyed. in wonders first race, it goes covers wonders first race to the derby. i hope this next book is the triple crown races. as for the outcome, i think star wins the derby, gratis wins the preakness, and image wins the belmont. but if there is a triple crown winner i hope its image.

    Be Realistic

I will tell you right now...I have not read this one yet. I have read every single TB probably 3 times each....probably 100 for the titles I REALLY love... I am one of those people who don't care for Cindy. I think she puts up this attitude all the time....It has been this way FOREVER!!! Champion and her in #22 should emphazise Cindy's bratty behavior. I don't care if she's adopted or not....People have hard lives alright...Its a part of it....No one should have excuses for acting that way for more than the 30+ titles she has been in. JMO you dont have to agree

    Cindy's Last Hope

Ok,this book is not perfect, but its a start in the right direction.I really like how they got on with the this thing between Cindy and Ben,I just hope we don't have to wait a million years before something else happens with this new realationship.I liked the way,you never new what was going to happen, and I am sorry guys, but those of you who think Chris is a brat, well you were just proven wrong.I mean, the way she offered to ride Gratis in the Derby instead of Star, thats definitly not something that would come from a bratty, spolid person.I don't like how iresponsible they made Cindy out to be in this book, but who can ask for perfection????Anyway,I think this book is a start in the right direction to get the sereis out of the slump its been in recently.I would definitly recommened this book to any TB or Horse lover. Yours Truly Kat.P.S.I love My horses Princess and Sidney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

    Good book!

I liked this book a lot, Cindy is soo stubborn, it's kind of funny. I was so happy that Cindy finally got Champion back, even if Brad threatened to steal him. Wolf is a lot like Cindy, only maybe a little bit more mouthy...Cindy is always going to be my fav. character, and I really think her and Ben Al-rihani should hook up!

    The point is fading.

While I appreciate that the new authors actually remember that there are original characters such as Cindy, I feel the strange need to write about them in order to stretch out the road to the Kentucky Derby to be grating and dull. Cindy's Last Hope was both of these. There was very little plot line, and there was even less motivation to actually read it. The situation with Champion was highly unrealistic and used as a plot device. Champion is eighteen years old, sold when he was three or six (who knows at this point?), and spent a good long time in Dubai. I think the question of who owns the colt would have come up much earlier, and I'm sure a large body of water such as the Atlantic wouldn't stop the law. The pitiful excuse that Clay Townsend can't be found is ludicrous. There was a line of excuses too long in this book to make the stumbling plot move forward. Concerning Gratis, I'm sure someone could be found to ride the horse besides an exerice rider and an injured ex-jockey. There have always been horses that are hard to handle, and there are always plenty of highly skilled jockeys who can ride them. Why finding a jockey is such an issue in this series is beyond me. Just because the horse bucks a few times and throws a rider doesn't mean the jockey has to have a life bond to the horse in order to ride. Overall, I didn't mind Cindy in this book, but I'm wary as to why they're bothering writing about her. The slow down in this series is disappointing, and the lame attempts at plots are starting to wear thin.

    Ok...

I can't wait til this books come out because I've always liked Cindy and wondered what happened to her. Chris and Mel are being brats and they're not the only ones trying to make it in the racing business, but they don't seem to care about anyone but themselves. I wish the writers would realize the books aren't as good as they used to be and will make an effort to improve them.

What the HELL r people thinking!?

OK Pepplez! Listen, everyday i spend at the least 12 hours out at the barn. my barn dosen't race or jump or anything like that but we do gfo to extreaimly competive shows. Mel & Chirs care so much about their horses that thats all they can think about! Crazy, yes i know.Cindy is not a brat or spoiled. her v-bad attitude comes from her ingury. pretend that your whole life is based on what you can do w/ your horses/ horse skills. next pretend that you can't do anything because you don't have the ability any more. How would you be able to handle it?

    Cindy's Last Hope

I think this book is going to be sooooooooo good because I think Cindy and Ben are finally going to get together and Cindy will start racing again. And for those of you who think Cindy is bring a brat, put your self in her position.I mean her whole life was racing horses, and now its gone. And she does not own Gratis, she only trains him.Anyway,I have to admitt that Mel and Chris are acting like the biggest jerks, and are so stuck on winning the Derby, that I think some one else should win.I mean get over it all ready.Anyway,I still LOVE the TB series, and am planning on buying all the books that come out.And I don't care what people say, these books are way better than the Saddle Club series.Especially when the Saddle Club girls get older. They could care less about horses. At least Mel and Chris are on the right track.

    another mindless filler-book

Cindy is an experienced rider and a grown woman. There is no excuse for her to take an unpredictable horse like Gratis out on the trails alone. I give the book two stars for its two new horses- the two Arabians Dove and the unnamed bay gelding (This horse helped to save Cindys life and he doesn't even have a name). Why is finding a jockey always such a problem in this series?? Big name jockies have agents who work to find mounts for them. There is big money to be made in majoe stakes races. Even a real' nut-case ' like Coronado's Quest got a rider. While everyone is focusing on the tempermental horses are the good tempered but determined horses being ignored because they are not Derby candidates? When will the Derby come ? Hoofprints in the Snow sound as if it will be a flashback to Christmas past!

Never judge a book by it's cover!

I've read most of the reviews for the reviews for this book and it sounds like most of u really hate it. No offense. Everyone always says that your not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but how good the quality of the writing is, I read a review where all they had to say was how sucky the cover was. I'm an avid reader and have been reading this series since i was in elemtary school and i'm now finishing up middle school and still love the series more than ever. The charicters and horses in this story have become something that i hope to find in other people and horses that i meet. For those people who think Cindy is snobby. Hello she's addopted she has know idea who her biological family is, she was lucky enough to get addopted by a family that was into horses. She was well on her way in her career in NY City and then an old injury flared up again causing her to never do the one thing she has always wanted to do. How would you feel if you couldn't ride a horse again, race again, jump again, show again? Over all I can't wait intill i get this book in the mail and I can't wait intill more books come out.

    Cindy's Last Hope

Alright, don't get me wrong, the book was good, but I do admit that Cindy had a bit of a attitude. And even though the makes it pretty clear that Cindy and Ben like each other,we don't know if they are getting married or anything. And not to rush things,I just don't want to wait four or five more books before something happens.[And if you don't want to know what happens in the book don't keep reading.]I couldn't belive when Ben's Father turned over half of champion to Cindy and half to Ben.Kinda unrealstic??????And of course Mr.Brad townsend just had to get in the middle of things somewhere. But He added the needed edge over things.Anyway, all in all,it was a good book.I do agree that the Derby needs to come around because people are starting to get tired of waiting. And the facts about the horses are starting to slip, and Chris seemed really sweet in this book, offering to ride Gratis instead of Star for the Derby. So I guess she isn't has much of a brat as I thought before. But after reading this book,I kinda want Gratis to win the Derby now because of Ben and his Father.Well, anyway, this book was great[much better then Derby Fever]and even though Cindy acted like a out of control teenager, and Ben had to act like her Father,it was still good, and I hope we don't have to wait 4 more books to see what happens with this new buding romance

    TIME FOR A CHANGE?

I think that these books are getting worse! I've read a lot of reviews here and at other sites, and it surprises me that people are so positive to the new books. Of course, everyone have their right to their own opinion, but personaly, I think the plots in the latest books have been really bad. For several books, the theme has been Image's and Star's (and Gratis') way to the Kentucky Derby. I think that this is taking way too long time! I mean, compare it with the earlier TB books, like Wonder's First Race, were we went from Wonder's first race to the Derby in that one book. I suppose the editors have decided to do this because it will make things more exciting and keep the readers in suspense, but it only makes me-and a lot of people I know, who also read TB-annoyed and frustrated. The latest books haven't had much of plots, it's only about Melanie and Christina and all their little worries and confidence problems. But, to get to the plot of this book: I think it sounds quite ridicoulos. So just because Cindy doesn't like this groom, he can't ride Gratis, even though he can handle the horse? I wish Cindy would grow up some time! She's such a snobby brat, although she's been slightly better in the later books than when she was young and took care of Glory, Champion and all the other horses. Not that Christins or Melanie are any better, they're driving me crazy nowadays. I used to like Melanie, but now she's just paranoid and obsessed with winning, like evryone else seems to be. Oh well, I guess that was quite a lot... just had to share my opinion with you other reviewers, because it really makes me upset and frustrated that these series, in MY opinion, are slowly but safely being destroyed. I used to love reading TB, but now I do it mostly out of habit. And I think that's sad. Editors, I'd love to see a change!

    Well..................

Ok,don't get me wrong,I love this series, but I agree when you say the plots are getting kinda old.And personally,I think Chris and Mel are brats. All they do is worry about the stupid race, not that there wasn't a lot the line, but they just need to get over it.They are not the only people in the world who have problems. And Cindy is probally the one that is least acting like a brat.Anyway, these series are great, and I would recomenned them to anyone,I just hope the authers start to move on a little bit with this series. P.S.And are Chris and Parker going to get back together??????They aren't hinting on anyting.

    Yuk..

Has anyone noticed how contradictary these books are getting? I think in book #41 Star was running in the Bluegrass...it's just so stupid cuz Star never even ran in that race. Also, in one book Image was headed for Florida, and Star went Louisiana right? Well then in Perfect Challenge Image was just getting down to Florida...HELLO? Some people need to get the facts straight! I miss the old books...in the new ones the horses's names are wrong a lot even! It's so lame...if anyone agrees with me email me at dakotasgurl16@yahoo.com!
