Meet the Author

Laura Day
Laura Day

Laura Day first began her career as an intuitive and healer by mistake. She allowed Italian and French researchers to use her as the subject in an intuition study and then, amazed at the results, she went on to administer these same tests on other people that she met. She discovered that everyone had this same intuitive and healing ability. Over time she used her intuition in a variety of different fields, working with film studios, actors, writers, psychiatrists, political leaders and with Dr. Larry Waites researching HIV drugs.

Laura decided to write her first book while watching psychic hot-line commercials on late night television. Appalled at the thought that people would pay for something they already possessed, she wrote the New York Times best-seller, Practical Intuition, based on the theory that intuition would enable people to create choices and changes in their lives. She then began giving the weekend workshops on Practical Intuition which further engaged all of the tools that the book described for summoning intuitive intellect. Between the book and the workshops Laura began to acquire a substantial following comprised of a variety of people from doctors to actors to teachers.

Laura's next two books were Practical Intuition for Success and Practical Intuition for Love. She recently released her first CD The Healing Circle, meditations to energize and focus the healing power.

Laura Day has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The View, Good Morning America, Public Eye and many others. Her work regularly appears in magazines such as Marie Claire and Bottom Line Personal. Laura has trained healers and intuitives for practice in a variety of settings. Her cliente includes celebrities, business executives, scientists, doctors and professionals in many fields. She lives in New York City.

    The Circle

This book is awesome and helps to direct you on a spiritual journey within to find out exactly what you want to manifest in your life. It helps sort the wants from the needs to really focus yourself on what things are necessary for you individually to create the life you truly want! Very inspiring. I've given it as gifts to many of my friends who are finding the world to be much more difficult than they ever anticipated. Very hopeful way to find your way through action.

A small but extraordinarily powerful book.

What better gift to give those on your holiday gift list than the secrets to making their hearts' desires a reality? It's a tall order, but Laura Day's extraordinarily powerful (and deceptively short 142-page) book THE CIRCLE truly delivers on its promise that 'The Power of a Single Wish Can Change Your Life.' Step by step, Laura takes readers through the process of Initiation (1-Intentionality, 2-Embodiment, 3-Ritual); Apprenticeship (4-Synchronicity, 5-Making Space, 6-Coherence); and Mastery (7-[Overcoming] Outer Roadblocks, 8-[Overcoming] Inner Roadblocks, 9-Contact). This is the perfect gift for anyone you care about whom you'd like to help realize their deepest dreams.

The Potential of a Single Coherent Wish!

The Circle covers material that will seem familiar to those who have read Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich and others), Norman Vincent Peale (The Power of Positive Thinking), Deepak Chopra (Creating Affluence), and Anthony Robbins (Awaken the Giant Within). Readers who found those books helpful will find that The Circle brings their understanding of the power of focus to a new and more refined level. The Circle is especially good for clarifying the psychological states that lead to accomplishing important desires. Although the book refers to concepts that many associate with spiritual beliefs, Ms. Day encourages you to see the book as independent of any particular religion or set of spiritual beliefs. She also says that it is just fine to reframe her words here to fit into your own religious or spiritual beliefs. The book¿s key point is that ¿what you perceive, what you conceive, and what you create are one . . . .¿ The concept is developed in three parts: initiation (¿In your initiation, you discover your one true wish and put it into the language of The Circle.¿), apprenticeship, and mastery. These three parts are broken in turn into a total of nine steps: (1) Intention -- You pick a single wish that is ¿specific, positive, passionate, and present.¿ (2) Embodiment -- You create ¿reality¿ tales and songs, and meditate in ways that make the wish more real to yourself. (3) Ritual -- You follow new rituals that you create to help you achieve your wish and eliminate old habits that would undermine you. (4) Finding Luck (or Synchronicity) -- You learn to look for meaningful coincidences and tap into them. Often, opportunity will look like a problem, a setback, or a distraction. Pay attention! (5) Make Room for Your Wish -- ¿Open your hand and let go of things that you have onto out of habit for years . . . .¿ (6) Achieve Coherence -- Eliminate overt cross-purposes that pull you away from your wish. (7) Eliminate External Roadblocks -- See each one as an ¿inspiring challenge¿ that brings you closer to achieving your wish. (8) Eliminate Subconscious Roadblocks -- Let go of unconscious and outdated wishes, and hidden agendas. In attempting to deal with these other intentions, you may realize that your wish needs to be changed to better reflect what you really want. (9) Create and Expand a Community to Support You -- ¿Give what you have. Ask for what you need.¿ The epilogue is especially good at bringing these ideas together. I especially liked the argument that both the past and the future exist now in the present. By re-examining the past in the present, you can give the past new meaning that can power the future fulfillment of your wish. Each of the nine steps contains assignments to help you apply the book¿s thinking more accurately. I found these assignments to be very brief, but highly effective. As I read the book, I applied its process to one of my favorite wishes. What I realized from this experience is that I have some issues in step 8 that I need to deal with. That was a very helpful insight to me. Prior to reading this book, I would not have realized all of the inner conflicts that I need to resolve before I can make the fullest progress. For me, that was a highly beneficial realization. I have no way of knowing what you will learn, but I suspect that you will gain value from seeing new issues that you can deal with in at least one area. If the book¿s main strength is that it explains the psychological states of implementing intention very well, the book¿s main weakness is that it does not explain all of its concepts. You are left hanging with some of the same statements that bother people who read Napoleon Hill. For example, you are a ¿sender and receiver.¿ I take that to mean that we share our intentions with people, and we receive questions, suggestions, and support that we must be ready to notice and employ. In the context of

    more from this reviewer

This book brought me such peace

I absolutely loved this book. I wish this could be required reading for everyone entering college. This book gave me focus; it brought everything, all my scattered thoughts together and put them in order. As a result, I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This book also made me feel like I was a part of something bigger than just myself. I read this book 6 years ago and have never forgotten it. I had gone through a great tragedy and needed to find some answers about myself. I was in Barnes and Noble and this book caught my eye, I picked it up and it captured my interest with the tagline. It was everyything I was looking for, as far as the written word. Now I give it as gifts. If you are looking for a way to refocus and reframe how you go about accomplishing the things you want in life, then you won't be disappointed in this book.

    Outstanding

Another must read from Laura Day! I've read all her books. Our thoughts are our reality. Laura doesn't remember me, but we took a writer's workshop together 10 years ago. Not only is she a gifted healer and intuitive, but she is also a gifted writer with a great wit.

    take this book seriously!

This book is not a bedside story book. It shud be taken very seriously; read thoroughly; digested and then put into practice. Once you make your wish interpret your dreams well and keep a daily log. Be very sure about your wish, give yourself lots of time to make sure its what you want and make sure you do not wish for sth you might later change your mind.

Keep you mind on what you want

I love this book Keep your mind on what you want and take you mind off what you don't wantis the basic message. It's true that if we don't know where we want to go, we'll arrive where we don't want to be. So stay focussed.

A gentle, healing, and magical approach to living.

I have heard, 'you create your own reality' over and over in my many new-age, and metaphysical explorations. Many offer magic without foundation or consideration of what's practical.

Working in The Circle as explained by Laura Day in this book is pure practical magic with foundation. There is NO something for nothing magic in the Circle... there is real magic.

The Circle is a process which is clearly outlined in this book. It is also a living, breathing process by which we can live our lives, and expect support from the universe, and our intuition.

We each create our own realities. The Circle, explains the process behind that statement simply, with more detail, clarity and inclusivness than I've experienced before now. Laura Day offers a simple step by step approach, to working the gifts and abilities we each possess. Creating what you want is not magical at all working with this process, it's very practial. What's magical is the way when working through the steps, the universe aligns behind your efforts, and your intuition focuses on your goal.

Whether you have a big wish, or just a small one, bringing it into The Circle by going through the steps will grow you enough to have it be.

This past weekend, I was faced with an inner challenge (a little wish) with potentially large consequences. As I brought that wish into The Circle, very quickly I realized that I needed support to face the challenge, I first requested support from all of the intuitives at The Practical Intuition Forum. My intuition then revealed to me my oldest friend, whom I hadn't even seen in two years. When I called to ask her to join me & support me, I was amazed to discover we were each going through similar issues, and it seemed highly unlikely she would be able to support me...

I brought all of this back into the steps of the Circle, for more intuition, clarity, whatever...

well guess what!, the universe aligned behind me; although she was not working with the circle, she went into work the next morning and with clarity expressed boundaries on previously 'deaf ears', the pieces fell into place, and was available to join & support me. I put one small wish into the Circle, and both of us experienced healing, growth, and an amazing re-union.

The most amazing synchronicity is that at exactly the time I first called and was leaving a message for her, she was in the location where we first met 20 years ago, and shared with her husband that this was where she met me.

This is just an example of the MAGIC of The Circle.

My recommendation...This book is a KEEPER, BUY IT, READ IT, COMMIT YOURSELF...

    ...AND WISH AWAY!

    Absolutely Profound, Magical, Blessed, Inspired!

If you have ever wanted to truly make your wishes come into manifestation, The Circle will guide you unerringly through the divine and simple process of making them real. I have never, in twnety years of reading self-help and spiritual books read anything as wondrously simple yet superbly factual. Only the loudest applause for Laura Day and her divine writing. This is an absolute MUST READ for anyone who can spell L-O-V-E.

    Small Book; Big Ideas

The subtitle, 'How The Power of a Single Wish Can Change Your Life,' says it all. The circle is a place where you align all of your energies (thought, word and deed) and focus them on making your wish come true. Day takes the reader through the three phases of the circle - Initiation, Apprenticeship and Master. Each phase contains three elements or steps to total nine steps in all. Of course, you're never really finished. Once you manifest one wish, you start the process all over again with another wish. What I love about the book is that it gives the reader something to do. After each essay explaining the 'element,' the author gives an action that the reader can do to illustrate concept. Readers are encouraged to live their desired 'New Reality' now. The chapters on inner and outer roadblocks are worth the price of admission. It's refreshing to see an author deal with roadblocks in a manifesting book. Usually, they're glossed over. As for the actual writing, it's a small book and a very, easy read. If you do follow the steps to mastery, your wish (whatever it is)will certainly come true.
