Of all geometrical shapes, the circle is perhaps the most pleasing to the eye. The sixty circular stained glass patterns in this book, all surrounded by eight-sectioned border bands, will be of great value to craftspeople who want to make showpieces to hang in front of windows or lights and on walls. There are, of course, many other applications, such as the tops of decorative boxes.
Connie Eaton has designed pieces of complexity varied enough to satisfy both the beginning and the experienced craftsperson, pieces that cover many styles and themes: birds, florals, abstract florals, geometrics, landscapes and more. Each offers creative challenges in color design, glass cutting and construction. Color renderings of the patterns on the covers of the book show design possibilities.
The patterns are presented in a convenient, readily usable size, but they can be reproduced in larger or smaller sizes. This collection of patterns is intended as a supplement to stained glass instruction books (such as Stained Glass Craft by J. A. F. Divine and G. Blachford, Dover Publications, Inc., 0-486-22812-6).
Suppliers of glass and other materials, including general instruction books and tools for the beginner, should be listed in your local Yellow Pages.
