60 pages. I have been reading Tuck's books over the last few months. He writing skills have improved since his first book. The Deacon Chalk characters are well developed and easy to cheer for. The monsters are colorful and easy to hate. Lots of creatures to populate this series. Well worth the read.

Another home run by Tuck! Whatever dark recesses he mines for these awesome Deacon tales . . . Well I hope he never finds the bottom! If you like dark, gory, and kickass action go no further. In fact back up and start with book one and revel in the Deacon storm that keeps humanity safe. No sparkles or angsty romance crap! Thanks for rockin' my world again with your badassery! Now on to the next Deacon tale with Blood and Magic. I hope I don't have to wait too long for the next and the next and the next. . . .Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
