I took the CISA exam in Dec 2008. This book was a waste of time.

1) Many, many errors. Statements made in the beginning of a chapter are then contradicted later in the chapter. Quite a few practice questions at the end of the chapters are just plain wrong. Leaving you wondering whether the question was right or was the content in the chapter right.

2) Chapter 4 on Networking Technology has NOTHING to do with the CISA exam.

3) What little good content there is in the book is mired in redundancy and confusion. Minor concepts are repeated, yet major concepts needed for the exam are untouched.

I found the study material provided by ISACA to be far better than this book. I wish I had used the 30+ hours it took to read through this book to study the ISACA material instead.

This is a great book and it breaks down the intent of ISACA in preparation for their CISA exam. I would highly recommend this study guide to beginners, intermediate, and expert auditors looking to add the CISA credential. The book is designed for individuals who are looking to go deeper into how to succeed as an information systems auditor; with more emphasis on the why and how instead of memorization of vocabulary and useless information. Was this review helpful? I used this book to help prepare for the CISA Exam and found it useful for passing my exam. This book, along with several others, is provided to CISA Exam candidates by our local ISACA Chapter to consider using when preparing for the CISA Exam. Great exam guide and database of practice questions. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
