Meet the Author


Stephen M. Hutnik, CCNA, is a Senior Network Engineer at IBM Global Network Services, where he is responsible for development, testing, and training for the Global Backbone of the IBM Network. Stephen is also an adjunct professor of telecommunications at Pace University.

Stephen has extensive hands-on, design, training, and troubleshooting experience with a wide range of telecommunications equipment, including the entire line of Cisco routers (16XX through 75XX) and Cisco frame relay access devices. In recent projects, he has performed network evaluation and certification for the Cisco 1600 series of routers, and developed an MLPPP test bed for evaluating Cisco ISDN dial backup capabilities.

Stephen holds a Masters of Science in Telecommunications degree from Pace University.

Michael J. Satterlee (CCIE #3980) is a Senior Network Engineer at IBM Global Network Services, where he is responsible for managing the IBM Global Network Backbone Engineering Lab.

Michael is well-versed in IP internetworking, routing and switching, and can design, configure, install, and troubleshoot enterprise router networks with RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP and BGP. In recent projects, Michael has designed, implemented and tested the ISDN dial around the cloud Cisco solution for all IBM domestic networks. He also performed network evaluation and certification on all Cisco 2500 products before installation on the IBM domestic network.

Michael holds a Masters of Science in Telecommunications from Pace University.
