    Good story

This collection on zombie stories, vaguely connected while occupying the same story universe, is simultaneously oddly hopeful and hopeless. I know this was a web series, but I'd have liked a bit more tie-in of the vignettes and a more satisfying and conclusive ending. Otherwise I really enjoyed this collection. The writing was great, and it was a pleasure to read.

This is a fabulous collection of stories. I particularly love the way
the author weaves into each story both a simple and complex human
reaction to this world disaster. He has a remarkable ability to quickly
develop a character, and to further foster an alliance between the
reader and that character...which makes the reading easy and
pleasurable. There were points in the collection where I felt as though
I was given a key to a mystery, and others where I found myself grieving
for the life these people lost. And, I LOVED the last story...found
myself smiling as I closed the cover. Great writing, great stories.
Just as an aside...Though the author has published these stories as
individuals shorts, I would recommend reading them as a compilation to
get the full effect of the story.

As an avid reader, I generally stay away from popular fiction and especially genres of this sort. This is based on the overdone, systematically inane, trite and transparent nature of "modern popular fiction". That being the case "Cities of the Dead" is anything but the preceding. It has single-handily restored my faith in popular fiction -- providing an example of a popular theme but remaining true to the fundamental elements of good prose, and interesting story telling which provide robust theme and meaning throughout the work. The author does not overtly serve these to the reader, but rather demands a degree of attentiveness and insight from the reader, while keeping the interest level and pace of the work driving toward of very satisfying conclusion . My only regret is this collection had to end.

    Really good read

Normally I don't really go for zombie stories, but this series was great. Though I wish the ending had more closure instead of leaving you hanging.

    Well done

I enjoyed these stories. They are well written and I like the fact that each story is self contained. Each one adds to the the overall theme. However, the conclusion was s bit disappointing. It did not provide closure like I was expecting. I would have preferred a definitive ending instead of hoping that it turned out okay and the world was saved. I suppose that was what the author intended...taking the ending and interpreting it the way you like.
