Overview

From New York Times bestselling author Aubrey Rose comes a short and steamy romance that will take you on a wild ride!

Curvy company executive Ruby Thomas has the worst assignment EVER: managing a botched company deal in the cornfields of Omaha, Nebraska. Even worse, on the way to Agricorp, her rental breaks down and she's stuck walking down the hot highway with nobody but the crows and corn for company.

Enter Josh. On a motorcycle, of course. He's a small-town boy who's keeping a strange secret...a secret Ruby can't quite put her finger on. It doesn't help that she's distracted by his luscious light-gray eyes and his bad boy appearance. Underneath all that there's something...different about him.

Something wild.

Ruby has never lost control before, and certainly not in bed! But as they say, there's a first time for everything...

Excerpt:

“Name’s Josh, by the way,” he said, holding out his hand. She shook it awkwardly, trying not to fall off of the bike.

“Ruby,” she said. “Thanks for helping me out.”

“No problem,” Josh said, and put his hands back on the handlebars. “Hold on.”

The motor revved and Ruby looked around frantically. There was no belt to buckle, no seat back, no handles that she could see.

“Wait! What do I hold onto?” she asked.

Josh looked back. His eyes smiled again behind the visor, and up close she saw that they were a bright, piercing bluish gray. Same color as the sky overhead.

He picked up her wrist and pulled it around his waist.

“Gonna have to hold on to me,” he said. Again the engine revved. She brought her other hand around in front of him loosely, her face turning red in spite of herself.

As the bike pulled forward, she clasped his chest and gasped involuntarily, hanging on for dear life. He chuckled and shifted into second gear.

“Don’t worry, you ain’t gonna fall off,” he said over the roar of the engine. He turned his head back towards her, taking his eyes off the road. “I’m very safe.”

The first installment of the Paranormal Shifter Biker Romance se

The first installment of the Paranormal Shifter Biker Romance series is a thrilling quick read that keeps readers on their toes.  Ruby Thomas is the company executive sent to salvage a deal in middle of Omaha, Nebraska. Josh is the small town boy with a strange secret who rides in on his motorcycle to save Ruby when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Ruby’s never lost control before especially in bed but there’s always a first time for everything.
The fast paced plot keeps readers on the edge of their seats with action, suspense and red hot passion.  The author brings the short story to life with vivid imagery and details that capture the imagination and strong compelling characters that grab the reader’s attention and has them wanting to know more.  To spice the story up even more, there is some tension and an ongoing conflict with a rival pack that Ruby gets caught in the middle of.
The attraction between Ruby and Josh explodes from the pages and the sex scenes scorch the reader with their vibrant intensity.  But every potential relationship has is its problems and this one is no different.  Where they live being a big problem and of course Josh’s strange secret might be a bit much for a city girl to take in.
The story is really short of course and I really hate waiting for the next installment but the overall plot has definitely caught my interest along with the captivating characters. I was caught up in this quick read from the very beginning and I will impatiently await the next.

I used to be a city girl and when I first moved to the country I

I used to be a city girl and when I first moved to the country I knew how a Ruby felt “In front of her, the road
stretched on, corn fields on either side. Behind her, the same. The sun burned down from overhead and a
crow cawed at her, taunting her" and Ruby hasn't even moved to the country, she is just visiting, unwillingly I
    might add.
I like Ruby and could easily relate to her, even the condescension to country folk, but country people also
look down on the city people too, the thing to do is get over our preconceived ideas and see people for who
they are, and that is something that Ruby does and one of the reasons I liked her.
Josh is her complete opposite laid back, relaxed, unorganised but his eyes got me “His eyes smiled again
behind the visor, and up close she saw that they were a bright, piercing bluish gray. Same color as the sky
overhead", and “His body was built for the country, and his eyes shone clear, reflecting the flames of the fire.”
Can't you just picture him, throw in a bike and a wolf and I'm hooked.
How two such opposites come together and feel the magic of attraction is wonderfully written in this short
but entertaining story by Aubrey Rose, there is a steamy scene but it's a sweet romance with wolves that
will have you wanting more, I hope that it is the beginning of a series because I for one want to discover
    more about Josh and Ruby.
I received a free copy for an honest review.
