Five decades after Statesman and his allies first formed the Freedom Phalanx, that legendary group of heroes is no more and power-mad villains stand poised on the brink of ultimate victory. The fledgling hero Positron has a plan to stop them: rebuild the Freedom Phalanx. This series has potential

This was an excellent follow up to 'Web of Arachnos'. The author makes your feel like your in the period, the 1980's. Statesman is still a powerhouse in this novel, but there are some fresh faces that correlate with the comic books and the PC games. These new characters are Manticore, Positron, Synapse etc., however these characters personalities and powers resemble well known characters from DC and Marvel comics. Manticore resembles batman, Positron is like iron man and Synapse the flash. These characters aren't exactly like their mainstream counterparts. Each ones history and personality is unique and well thought out. The heroes weaknesses and personal problems make them truly feel human. The story is a little predictable but the story is always moving and doesn't snag anywhere. The super powered fights are excellently written and truly feel larger than life. Especially the fight between Lord Recluse and Statesman. This is an excellent read for comic book fans or fans of the PC game.
