The Eyewitness "Civil War" is a very encyclopedic overview of the Civil War and in most areas well presented. But I was astonished that there was very little in the way of maps; especially absent was a map of the Union and Confederate States. I bought the book based on the excellent experiences that I have had with other DK Eyewitness series and will keep this one for some of the excellent sections on everyday life of the soldier and weapons, but will have to supplement maps from other sources. Was this review helpful?
