Clara Bieler wants to leave Lancaster and move to Philadelphia with her aunt as she does her rumspringa in Becca Fisher’s CLARA BIELER: AMISH ROMANCE BOXED SET. Clara knows something is waiting for her in the English world but she does not know what. She hopes to discover it.

I like the Clara’s story. I like how Becca Fisher gives us a glimpse into Amish life. Clara’s family is interesting. Their characters are well developed so I feel like I have returned to visit good friends when I read this series. The English characters are not as well developed and it is harder for me to understand why Clara wanted to leave home.

Much as I like Ms. Fisher’s storytelling, her proofreading leaves much to be desired. Typing and grammar should be corrected before publishing. There were also a name change and a major discrepancy involving Clara’s first English boyfriend, Brandon and his father. These inconsistencies pull me out of the story as I go back to clarify what had been written earlier in the story. That’s a shame because she does tell a good story.
I received this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
