Meet the Author

Rama Velpuri is a management consultant in the software industry. He has over 22 years of managerial and technical experience in the IT industry spanning several continents. Velpuri was vice president of the Clarity PPM division of CA Technologies. Previously, he was the CTO of Kenexa Technologies, a Pennsylvania-based company in the HR vertical which he helped take public. Velpuri was the founder and CEO of Oramasters Inc. As an executive director at Oracle Corporation, he was instrumental in establishing the Oracle India Product Engineering Center in Bangalore and the Oracle Application Development Center in Hyderabad, India. During his tenure at Oracle, Velpuri authored nine technology books that were translated into German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Dutch, Japanese and Mandarin.

Arpit Das is a director in the CA Services Global Delivery organization at CA Technologies. He has more than 14 years of experience in leadership,strategic planning, and delivery effectiveness across various business units. Das joined CA Technologies in 2000 in product development and over the succeeding years worked for product development, CA Services, and Global Delivery. As a services architect for North America Clarity practice, he was engaged in creating architecture models and design solutions, developing project plans, gathering business requirements and translating them into high-level design documents, and managing vendor relationships. During his tenure as a field services architect, he was involved in setting up the Clarity Solution Center and mentoring new services consultants and architects. Das assisted in building an elite global delivery organization, including recruiting and hiring technology experts in India, Europe, North America, and Latin America. His responsibility was to set up partner and vendor relationships to scale growing international business,including beginning-to-end management and negotiation. Das assisted in developing a Managed Services business unit to deliver remote production operations for CA clients, specifically focused on the Service Management and IT Governance business units. He took a master�s degree in computer and information systems engineering from Tennessee State University and a bachelor's degree�in electrical engineering from the�University of Pune, India.
