Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.

It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.

Clash (verb): to come

Clash (verb): to come together or collide.

I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.

Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.

Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.

He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.

Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.

**Clash is the first book in this Legal Affairs trilogy and is releasing on 4/7/15. Grind will be released on 4/21/15 and Yield will be released on 5/5/15.

Get ready for Macy & Cal. It’s going to get soooo hot in here. Panties not needed. Slide ‘em off. Because you are going to get very, very wet. Their banter was pure foreplay. Sexual tension was palpable, even their closest friends knew it. But they never acted on it – until NOW. Until Macy finally made her move, and Cal was thrown into the loop and she just ruined him for the rest of the woman population. (Poor us!!) Macy was promiscuous, and I’m not really that fond of those kinds of people – but there was something in her that made me like her. She was honest, she grab what she wants and isn’t sorry for it. If she wants a second-time with him, she was going to get it. There was so much more to Macy than what she actually projects, and I wanted to know her secrets and what’s underneath that strong, impenetrable façade she sports. Not if he can help it. Cal was caught off-guard and he didn’t like the feeling. He tried to fight it, to avoid her – but it seemed destiny wanted them to be together when his partner assigned him her case. Uh-oh. Things are going to get a little more interesting… Sawyer Bennett did it once again. Hot, sexy, steamy with underlying mystery and romance. It’s something that will provoke your thoughts, get you warm and fuzzy all over and have you swooning and swearing for the next book in the series. I was totally knocked off – love every page.

Who would have thought Cal Carson would ever be at Macy Carrington's home but since Matt and Mac Connover was having Aaron's first birthday party there he knew he had to be there....if not for Aaron but for Mac since they are partners in there law practice but.....since Cal and Macy NEVER see eye to eye this day might NOT turn out the way it should...a calm and piece full day. But when Cal finds himself lost in Macy's home the tables are sure to turn .... Especially with there deep feeling's that they have for each other ....Good or bad or kinky .... After just one encounter with Macy Cal realizes that his relationship with Camille Grand really isn't what he wants in his future because he can't seem to get Macy off his mind. And when Mac comes to Cal with a problem Mac pull the ... " I am pulling my marker" card how can he say NO but his gut it telling him he can win this case...Macy's case....but can he be alone with Macy with out having inappropriate thoughts about her... Miss. Carrington or will Macy want more too ?? The pull from this book is hard ..... You can't wait to see the next page to see what happens next .... The chemistry between these two characters is hot and heavy even if they don't act on it !! So can't wait to see what happens in book 2 with the HUGE HOT CLIFFHANGER !!

Macy and Cal are acquaintances that are connected by friends.  They have this crazy way of acting around each other.  They can't help themselves!  They constantly try to tear each other down.  The insults just fly from both of them.  One day while tossing insults at each other, they ended up in her pantry, during a party at her house.  It was the BEST SEX EVER for both of them!  Now she's being sued and Cal has reluctantly agreed to represent her with the specific agreement that they cannot sleep together while he is her attorney.  How will they ever keep their hands off each other? This is a funny and very sexy story.  The more I learn about Macy, the more I see the reasons she acts the way she does.  I just want to give her a hug.  Cal?  He's very sexy and yes, sometimes he has me thinking "he's such a girl" because his thoughts are often those that a woman would think.  He's very sensitive that way.  I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Upon finishing, my initial reaction: Whoa... extreme heat alert! My Thoughts (full review): You know those books that you see everywhere and you decide that it intrigues you too much and you can't stop yourself from buying it? Also, you know those books that you weren't intending to pick up one day because you already have several you need to get to first, but you pick it up anyway and can't stop reading? That's this book. I'm a sucker for a bantering couple, but Cal and Macy sure take the cake on that one. I was grinning practically the whole time because it was a constant, and it fueled their desires higher. And talk about extreme heat! The two of them together--absolutely combustible--and I couldn't stop reading. Clash was the perfect first taste of the series. I was drawn in, completely wrapped up in the humor and the heat of it all. Cal and Macy are the epitome of hate to lust and I couldn't get enough of it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series by Sawyer Bennett. My Rating: Very Good

ARC review - I must say that I disliked Cal before starting Clash, due to the back story between Cal and Matt. I realize however, I judged him too quickly because I am completely smitten with him now. I am also warming to Macy. Her backstory is partially revealed and quite interesting. I must admit I wasn't sure I was going to like their story, but as a lover all of S.B. writing, I was all in! This story is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! What a cliffy at the end. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment of their story.

We had gotten to know Cal Carson and Macy Carrington in the Legal Affairs series where Macy is the best friend of McKayla (Mac) and Cal is Mac’s business partner and the former best friend of Mac’s husband Matt Connover. Neither of them has ever really seen eye to eye with one another, so Clash is the perfect title for this novella. There is no doubt that the personalities of Cal Carson and Macy Carrington do just that…clash, but what they both don’t realize until Mac and Matt’s son’s first birthday party, is that they have some chemistry that is HOT. Macy calls Cal “Saint Cal” as she believes him to be holier than thou, where Cal refers to Macy frigid. As per usual, the two are bickering and it leads to a romp in the pantry during the birthday party that was unexpected, but enjoyed by both parties. As Cal tries to put Macy out of his mind, she continues to creep back in, even though he’s trying to make things work with his ex-girlfriend. Macy too is harboring thoughts that she’d like to get Cal back in her bed for another go as well. When an unexpected legal matter arises with Macy and Mac cashes in her chips with Cal to have her represent her best friend, it puts Cal in the unenviable position of spending time with the sexy woman and during the meeting Macy is doing all she can to get her wish by wearing down Cal’s intent to be professional. Cal’s single again now, but knowing he wants to settle down, can he sleep with Macy again and be able to walk away? We’ll find out when part two of this three part series is released next Tuesday!

If you loved the Legal Affairs series with Matt and Mac, you will enjoy this. This is part one of Cal Carson and Macy Carrington's story. Cal is McKayla "Mac" Dawson Connover's business partner. Mac is also his best friend. Mac's best friend is Macy, a loud, very rich and over-the-top type of girl. Cal and Macy love to bait each other. I loved their back and forth banter. Story starts out where everyone is at Macy's family home for Mac's son's first birthday party. Since Macy is throwing the party, of course she went all out. Cal has just about had enough and goes to leave when he runs into Macy in the kitchen and let's just say...things HEAT UP! Ooh, these two are going to be explosive together! A few weeks later Macy finds out she is being sued. Since Mac cannot represent her friend, she calls in a favor and asks Cal to do it. Oh, boy. Let's just say the first meeting to discuss Macy's case gets very interesting....and then it ends and leaves us hanging. Curses Sawyer for making me wait 14 days for the next installment!

I am so glad these books will be coming out close together! Clash (Book 1) ends on a very frustrating cliffhanger. Cal and Macy are a combustible combination to say the least. They are always insulting and bickering with one another at the beginning of the story, but when insults become especially nasty is when the sparks really fly. I really love the chemistry between Cal and Macy! And , for one, can't wait to see where it will go from here.

Eye Opener: CLASH: (Cal and Macy Part 1) is the first installment in Sawyer Bennett’s A Legal Affairs Story serial focusing on Macy Carrington and Cal Carson. Macy is MacKayla Dawson-Connover’s best friend and Cal is Mac’s legal partner (Legal Affairs Matt and MacKayla). CLASH is a three part serial therefore the installments must be read in order. Told from Cal’s first person point of view with diary entries from Macy, CLASH follows Cal and Macy’s very caustic and antagonistic relationship-a sexually tense and aggressive ‘clash’ between two people who purport to despise one another. Macy takes every opportunity and advantage to emotionally and mentally eviscerate Cal Carson, and there is no other explanation than something or someone has destroyed Macy’s soul. When Macy finds herself in trouble, MacKayla calls in a favor from Cal. The sexual relationship is destructive, provocative and consuming but Macy is a woman who uses $ex as a weapon; as a way to control the demons within. There is something quite sad and profound about Macy Carrington. CLASH Part one is an eye opener; a look into the minds of Macy and Cal, and what it is to live their lives, one day at a time. There is plenty of sexual tension; sexual release; and sexual situations. There are two sides to Macy Carrington and in this, the storyline is about to explode.

Sizzling hot and it's just the beginning! Who would have thought unassuming and regretful Cal, ex best friend of Matt and law partner of Mac, has a wild side with a little kink thrown in?? He and Maisey, Mac's old roommate, are like oil and vinegar. Throwing barbs is the basis of their relationship. But one intense encounter proves to Maisey that may Saint Cal isn't quite the saint she's dubbed him to be! This is the first installment of a new Legal Affairs serial and if this one is any indication of how off the charts good the whole story will be, everyone needs to read it!

Ok Cal is my new book boyfriend no doubt about it. I think he may be in over his head when it comes to Macy, but I guess sometimes you just fall hard for someone. This book has all the right hot, steamy, sex you could ask for. Ps cliffhanger at the end of the book had me going crazy till Yield come out!!!!

That was the best erotic short I have ever read! It ws full on balls to the wall erotic with a touch of kink. With Sawyer Bennets signtature alternating 1st person POV, she introduces two characters who seem exact opposites and rub each other wrong from go. What seemed like a one time encounter (encounter is waaaayyyy too mild a word for it) turns out to be in Cal's every waking and sleeping thought. But it's Macy's back story that intrigues me the most. Only SB can write a romance about a truly tortured soul. I Can Not Wait for the next installment!

Once again Sawyer has done it again, steamy, sexy and at the end you ask what happens next?!? This is a welcome spin off from her Legal Affairs series. Macy and Cal were very important to Mac and Matt and we learned a little about Cal and Macy, but always wondered what else was there. You can read this series as a stand alone as there is an introduction as to how they all know each other, but I would recommend reading Legal Affairs first so you have more of the back story and truly understand who they all are and how important their friendships are to each other.  In Clash we get a great intro into who Cal and Macy have been to each other for the past two years, nothing but trouble if you ask Mac and Matt. They always seem to fight when they are in the same room. Is this because they really do hate each other or is this because they see something in each other? We are given a little history on Macy that we were not privy to in Legal Affairs and it just has you asking more questions about who she really is. This novella is a filled with passion, lust, shame, friendship and personal struggles. The little bit of information you get on on both Cal and Macy to have you asking for more. Macy is wild and crazy and does not care at all what others think of her, she has no desire to be in a relationship, or does she? This seems to be the question I came away with from this book. There has to be so much more to her story than what Sawyer has shared in this book. Cal is a "good" guy who is looking for love, a relationship and a life he sees other have, (Matt and Mac). So far in life he has not been lucky in love. What happens when a date that is without strings attached from the dating service "One Night Only" ends up being more than Macy can deal with on her own? Will Cal take her on as a client? Will he be able to stay away from her if they have to work together? What will he learn about her in the process? So many questions that are left open at the end of this book and begging for book 2 (just to understand how the last interaction between them ends!), Grind that arrives at the end of April. Well done Sawyer. Loved it!

Another great addition to the Legal Affairs series. This one is about Cal and Macy. Cal works with Mac and Macy is her best friend. While Macy and Cal seem to clash at every meeting, they don’t see the sexual tension that others see between them. It happens at Mac and Matt’s son Arron’ birthday party. While Cal is thinking who would throw a one year old a birthday party with caviar and champagne, but who else but Macy Carrington. The one person who seems to want to flaunt her wealth. But Cal doesn't understand about Macy and maybe he will learn about what makes her tick. While Macy is still using “One Night Only” the dating service and Cal doesn't see why she doesn't do relationships. When she is being sued from someone from a past date through the service, Mac asked Cal to represent her. While Mac is a friend, Cal is not. But what about the time they spent in the pantry? Can Cal and Macy connect on a different level? Will Cal be able to resist her to represent her in court? I love this series and can’t wait for more. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**
