Meet the Author

Jeramey Kraatz has wanted superpowers ever since he opened his first comic book as a kid. He attended Texas Christian University and the MFA writing program at Columbia University. The Cloak Society is his first novel. Jeramey lives in Texas, where he works in the animation industry.

Adam Rex is the author of many books, including Cold Cereal, the first book in the Cold Cereal Saga, the New York Times bestselling picture book Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich, the middle-grade novel The True Meaning of Smekday, and the teen novel Fat Vampire. He lives with his wife in Arizona.

Adam Jay Epstein spent his childhood in Great Neck, New York, while Andrew Jacobson grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but the two met in Los Angeles. They have been writing together for film and television ever since.

Their interest in space dates back to their early years, when Adam attended Space Academy in Huntsville, Alabama (and won the Right Stuff Award!), and Andrew went to a movie theater (for the first time) to see a rerelease of Star Wars.

Adam Jay Epstein lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Jane, and their daughters, Penny and Olive. Andrew Jacobson, his wife, Ashley, their son, Ryder, and their dog, Elvis, live close by.

Tim Green played Little League baseball for many years before specializing in football. After graduating as co-valedictorian from Syracuse University, he was a first-round NFL draft pick and played as a star defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons for eight years.

When his sons began to play baseball, Tim drew on his early love of the game to coach their teams. His exciting books for young readers include Unstoppable, Pinch Hit, and Rivals as well as the New York Times bestsellers Baseball Great and Best of the Best, starring Josh, Jaden, and Benji. He has also written the novels Football Genius, Football Champ, Football Hero, and Deep Zone, starring Troy White and Ty Lewis.

Tim Green lives with his wife, Illyssa, and their five children in upstate New York.

Dan Gutman has written many weird books for kids. He lives in New Jersey (a very weird place) with his weird wife and two weird children.

Christopher Krovatin is the author of Heavy Metal And You and Venomous. He is also a contributing writer to Revolver magazine and a lifelong devotee of the zombie genre. He currently lives in Brooklyn.

Jon Scieszka is the National Ambassador for Children’s Literature emeritus and the bestselling author of more than twenty-five books for kids, including The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, Math Curse, Robot Zot!, and the Time Warp Trio series. Jon founded Guys Read to encourage a passion for reading among young boys, with the philosophy that boys love to read most when they are reading things they love. A former elementary school teacher, Jon lives in Brooklyn with his family.

Christopher Healy is the author of The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom as well as a reviewer of children's media. He lives with his wife and two children in New Jersey.
