Overview

When worlds collide ...

Born to wealth and privilege, ten-year-old David is arguably the most spoiled, obnoxious kid alive. That is... until he is kidnapped for ransom and left for dead. Thrown into a world he knows nothing about, he spends the next several years in an orphanage where his claims to fame and fortune fuel years of torment. Finally, he escapes hoping to make it back home. Instead, he meets Linda. Having lived among boys for so long, he doesn’t know how to handle his feelings for her. She is both irritating and intoxicating. Not that it matters. With looks like hers, every boy in the county is chasing her, and David, with his scraggly clothes and long hair doesn’t stand a chance. Then, when circumstances push them together, they both find that sometimes people aren’t what they seem.

Set during the Great Depression, Class Collision: Fall From Grace will transport you to a simpler time, filled with heartache and unexpected love.

"We humas are complicated creatures and it is hard to capture all that with simple words, but Mackey manages to introduce us to seemingly simple, one dimensional characters who once outside their comfort zone, dig deep to find parts of themselves that would have gone unrealized had it not been for the hardships they are made to endure." ~ Robin Landry, Amazon vinevoice

Fates can have fun with us all. "Class Collision" is a unique love story of Linda and David. Linda finds David, a battered and beaten man who seems to have nothing to his name. But David's story reveals that he has far richer callings and history, but Linda may never know such things, and may only find the truth as a pleasant little surprise. "Class Collision" is a fun read with a bit of fable thrown in, recommended

I found "Class Collision" by Annette Mackey to be engrossing and satisfying. The characters, specifically David, are realistic and well-developed. A great deal is learned about the characters from their relationships with each other and how they interact. David's point of view really made the book easy and enjoyable to read.

The book begins with the family enjoying breakfast on atypical day. Maybe not atypical day for most readers as mother is giving the servants their orders for the da

When I received “Class Collision,” I was slightly apprehensive about reading it. Although the online summary made it look very interesting and exciting, I knew that I did not enjoy reading anything that was set during the time of the Great depression, like “Class Collision” is. Even though I did not like reading things from this time period, I am very glad that I read “Class Collision.” Not only did it surprise me with how well it held my attention, it w

For those who love to read stories where the characters inspire intense emotional reactions and exist in shades of gray that make it impossible to reduce them to a one-word label other than to say they are not-so-simply human, then this is the perfect read.

One of the best books I've ever read!

I could not put this book down! I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. This book sucked me into David's world to the point where I felt his emotions along with everyone else's. There were a few grammar mistakes but nothing serious.
This book can be read by 12 year olds but there are violent scenes and it can be gory and disturbing at some parts and there's no sex scenes at all in this book.

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!

I LOVED this book and I was up till the wee hours because I became so wrapped up in the story line. I felt a wide range of emotion while reading this masterpiece! I love books that cause me to ponder new ideas and ways of thinking and this book certainly did this. After I put this book down I spent a great deal of time still thinking about some of the issues addressed.
This book truly addressed any unanswered questions I might have and I couldn't ask for a better ending. A wonderful job, Ms. Mackey, I can't wait till you write another book, but please make it soon!
