The 1980 volume of Rebound's Class Reunion series contains the usual eclectic mix of material as the other entries. Irene Cara's star-making debut, "Fame," the title song from the highly successful movie, makes the cut, as does Meco's "The Empire Strikes Back Medley," from the year's biggest flick. The country-pop of Pure Prairie League's "Let Me Love You Tonight," with future country star Vince Gill singing lead, managed to click as a Top Ten pop and adult contemporary hit, and Benny Mardones' toweringly melodramatic "Into the Night" lodged itself in the charts for the first time it would chart again in 1989.
