    For the beginner, the would be artist, or simply to encourage your creative side, explore the ancient beauty and art of Chinese Brush Painting in Helen and Rebecca's classic art set. As a wonderful introduction, it enables one to discover one's hidden muse - the kit is full of hidden delights from the beautiful brushes to the unique brush rest and mixing pots.     The Big-Ass Book of Crafts

    Beautiful and Fun!

    I loved this set probably the best thing I have bought from B&N. I have already done several paintings. I think the instructions are a little vague but the process was still easy with picture examples. I would suggest giving as a gift I have gotten a lot of oow's and aww's over this kit and the art I have completed.

    best instructional tool for chinese painting i can find.

    i looked and hoped ,prayed to find something for asian arts and crafts for a long time.i finally found it.i hope and pray i can find other arts and crafts for silk painting,making asian fans,and asian calligraphy,maybe pottery,embriodery and wood working.its very hard to find books and other instructional tools to teach arts and crafts from around the world ,especially on making musical instruments of high quality.it,s probably a dying art form in old art forms.there is definetly a shortage of different art forms form around the world being practiced here.

    An enjoyable investment

    I purchased this kit and very impressed with it. You don't need a lot of paint for one picture and the details and steps are helpfully. My first painting turned out really well and I look forward to future paintings.

    This would make a great gift for those fasicnated in the Chinese culture and wish to try their hand at it. Its a neat little set and I was not disappointed with any piece provided.

    it is beautiful

    my brush rest was broken.dont want to send it back because i want to get started with it .looks like it will be wonderfull to work with.

    I feel like an artist...

    I'm not the most artistic person, but I love Chinese brush paintings and I thought I'd give this kit a shot. To my surprise, with the help of the instructional booklet that's included, I can create a beautiful work of art!
