    Interesting

Besides the recipes, this book offers advice on pratical housekeeping as well, there are even tips on getting oil stains out of silk with a business card. It also has a lot of historical interest (though if gender stereotypes make you cringe, stay away- personally I find that part kind of funny in places, as a bachelortte aparently I am supposed to be living in the lowliest one room appartment with my kitchen in my living room. Bachelors must be expected to have the wages to eat in the "salons" mentioned because no advice exists for them). I find it interesting that even in the 1800s Americans were wasting enough food to feed many families, I guess some things never change. These books strive to educate on thrift, resourcefullness, cooking techniques, and health. Apparently anemia leads to criminal behavior. Awesomesauce. Highly entertaining and reccomended.
