Overview

The hit series returns to charm and inspire another generation of baby-sitters! Claudia's sister, Janine, is too busy being smart to be nice to anyone--even their grandmother, Mimi. But Claudia doesn't have to see Janine too much this summer, since the Baby-sitters Club is starting a new play group. It's going to be so much fun! But then Mimi has a stroke, and the whole summer changes. Now Claudia is "Mimi-sitting," and Janine is no help at all. How can the Kishi sisters get along when Janine is always so mean? Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Ellen Welty
Claudia lives with her parents, her older sister Janine, and her grandmother Mimi. Now that summer has arrived, Claudia has plans with the other members of the Baby-Sitters Club to start a play group to entertain their regular charges three mornings a week. Those plans take a back seat when Mimi has a stroke and Claudia volunteers to help her in the mornings while her parents are working and Janine is taking classes. Claudia resents what she perceives as Janine's indifference to the rest of the family without realizing that she has not given Janine a chance to contribute to the normal family activities. Claudia gets an uncomfortable feeling about her own behavior while watching her young charge Jamie's resentment at all the attention his baby sister is getting and starts looking at Janine in a new way. First published in 1987, this title is the seventh entry in the original "Baby-Sitters Club" series. Despite its age, the characters and situations are still fresh and appealing. New readers to the popular series will enjoy the adventures very much. Reviewer: Ellen Welty

Ann m Martin has done it again! Such an amazing author. This babysitters club was very funny and Ms. Martin told the scenes of Mimi's stroke wonderfully. I love the summer camp scenes and cried when mimi and her granddaughter shared memories and talked. Janine was very real and perfectally put together. Although this is not my favorite babysitters book it was still very good. Go Ann M Martin!!

I bought the book and i am on page 60 and so far the book is great! The Babysitters Club holds a play group and ask their regular coustumers to send their childern to have a good time, fun times also come with trouble at some times. The book tell about this and Claudias trouble with Janine and her Mimis stroke. This book is great and i recomend it for most ages. When i got it a thought it would be borning, but is NOT! It is an over all great book!

I'TS A GOOD BOOK BECAUSE IT TELLS YOU HOW HARD IT IS TO LIVE WITH OTHER SIBLINGS AND HOW TO DEAL WITH IT AND HOW AR IT IS TO LIVE WITH SOMEBODY WHO JUST HAD A STOKE. IT'S KINDA SAD BECAUSE CLAUDIA FEELS THAT MIMI HAD A STROKE BECAUSE OF HER.
