Ellen M. Puff was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Northwestern University (BS Theatre) and from the University of St. Thomas (MA Education). She is a licensed Secondary English/Language Arts and Speech/Theatre Arts teacher. Prior to teaching, Ms. Puff worked in the fields of Public Relations, Marketing, and Communications in Chicago, LA, and the Twin Cities.
A professional writer and editor, she has authored several children picture books, numerous health and travel articles, and her debut novel, "The Blood-Dimmed Tide" was nominated for a 2011 MN Book Award. In addition, she has authored several genealogical articles for Irish-Central.com and Tourism Ireland. Ms. Puff served on the Board of Directors for the Irish Genealogical Society International as the Educational Chairperson.
Ms. Puff's other interests include travel, hand knitting and crochet (12 time MN State Fair Ribbon winner), organic gardening, swimming, and yoga. She lives in St. Paul, MN.
