Cleil's Trilogy was published after the author's death in 1999 by permission of her chlidren. This mother of four, who received her BA degree and taught at age 50, missed out on neither life nor family. She shares her spiritual and humorous view of her ancestors, pregnancies, each of her children. and her widowhood spent communing with Mother Nature with her English Bulldog, "Yo." Many of the verses were inspired by Cleil's more serene time in Chester, in Northern California. Compiled as a trilogy- "Book One: Creation"; "Book Two: Chester Diary"; "Book Three: Chester Vespers." SHARE BABY
by Cleil Turkington

Joanie and Cleil were Ladies in waiting,
A well-rounded duo, I'm sure you'll agree.
Then fair Katalinda was born to the family
Just one lady waiting, and that one was ME!
Palm Sunday Eve and expectancy ended.
Our Susie arrived but wasn't to stay.
The spirit of Easter prevailed and she left us-
We plan on a family reunion some day.
Two Mothers, One baby.
No doubt that could end as a sad situation,
with deepest despair.
But Fair Katalinda was tucked in her bunting,
Joan brought her to me and said,
THIS ONE WE SHARE!
So fair Katalinda became my share-baby
You-think she's been spoiled a little? COULD BE!
A share child blessed with a duo of mothers
Ask who loves her most? and the answer would be ME!

Meet the Author

Lori Carangelo has written over 600 published articles and over 20 non-fiction books, many adoption themed, has ghost-written blogs for attorneys as their commentary on high profile cases, and helped write and edit "first books" for new writers. Her personal experience with the adoption system since 1969, as well as her networking and assistance without fee to over 20,000 searching Adoptees, Parents and Adoptive Families since 1989, as Americans For Open Records (AmFOR), has earned her stripes as both survivor and authority. Many of those she helped have inspired her books.
Her passion for giving a voice to Adoptees, and more recently Donor Offspring, was kindled by the loss of her only child who was stolen by a Connecticut foster care agency for secret adoption, and by her search and reunion with him 18 years later. Lori has one biological son, 3 step children, 3 biological grandchildren and 2 biological half-sisters for whom she also searched and found after family divorces and adoptions.
Now almost 70 and widowed, she continues to write true crime and other non-fiction books while retired from 30 years of adoption activism and 25 years of prior administrative positions with environmental protection offices, job training/placement programs, building projects, auto sales and real estate businesses, in Santa Barbara and Palm Desert, California, and from managing the largest commercial printing company in the Palm Springs area.
Lori served as a data source on adoption to the United Nations Rights of the Child Project, the Hague Intercountry Abduction and Adoption Treaty Conferences, and has assisted incarcerated adoptees with family searches and by composing court petitions in wrongfully convicted cases.
