Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
The opening page is great. It shows a picture and asks a question. Raccoons have adapted and can live in the forest, meadows and cities. They love the water and are good swimmers. The short but engaging teXt describes raccoon characteristicspaws with five fingers, its home, foods and offspring. The pictures are very good. The closing pages provide a map to show the places where raccoons live and a diagram with labels for the body parts. There is a glossary and an activity entitled "Hunt and Find" that can also serve as an indeX. The closing page has a brief description about the author. Another winning entry in the "PullAhead" series. 2001, Lerner, $21.27 and $6.95. Ages 5 to 7. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot <%ISBN%> 082253763X
