Overview

Todos Osmachka is a Ukrainian writer and poet. Representative of symbolism, expressionism and neo-romanticism. Member of the writers' associations of the Association of Writers (Aspis) and "Lanka" (MARS). Translator of Shakespeare's works. He criticized the communist ideology and the intelligentsia that cooperated with the authorities of Muscovy. Persecuted by Russian repressive psychiatry. The work of Teodosiy Stepanovich Osmachka was significantly influenced by symbolism and expressionism. The influence of neo-romanticism is noticeable in late poetry collections. In his works Teodosiy Stepanovych Osmachka paid special attention to Ukrainian folk traditions and ethnography. Тодось Осьмачка (1895 — 1962) — український письменник, поет. Представник символізму, експресіонізму та неоромантизму. Член письменницьких згромаджень Асоціації Письменників (Аспис) та «Ланки» (МАРС). Перекладач творів Шекспіра. Основна праця — «Старший боярин» (1946). Виступав із критикою комуністичної ідеології та інтелігенції, що співпрацювала з владою Московії. Переслідувався російською репресивною психіатрією.
