Like being at a bluegrass festival.

I first heard of Ralph Stanley and his music a few years ago on a country Christmas channel on satellite radio. I loved his banjo picking and his vocals, which made me feel I was listening to a real mountain man with none of the city slicker pretensions. I love the atmosphere created by these performances, apparently recorded at some live events. Of particular note are the comic imitations of a train and a model T Ford, and Red Stanley's fiddle work on the Orange Blossom Special, probably the best rendition I've heard anywhere. All in all, a great recording for those who want their music to take them in spirit into the heart of bluegrass country.
