Written and edited by authorities in the field, it would be a useful study guide not only for candidates in neurophysiology but also for those in neuromuscular medicine, epilepsy, sleep medicine, and neurology.
Purpose: The target audience includes anyone who needs to prepare for the neurophysiology areas of their board examinations.
Audience: The purpose is to prepare candidates for exams by using "structured question formats typically encountered on boards ... to allow users to assess their knowledge in a wide range of topics" in neurophysiology.
Features: The book includes eight chapters, an appendix on "pearls for passing," a bibliography section, an abbreviations section, and an index. The first chapter covers important anatomy and pathophysiology followed by electronics and instrumentation. The remaining chapters cover the various domains of EMG and NCV, EEG, EP and intraoperative monitoring, polysomnography and other sleep studies, and advanced topics, mainly on single-fiber EMG.
