From The CriticsReviewer: Randall S. Kuhlmann, MD, PhD (Medical College of Wisconsin)
Description: This is a review for examinations, particularly for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The design of this book facilitates the delivery of facts, with little attention paid to unnecessary detail.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide the reader with a review of obstetrics and gynecology for preparation of part two of the Royal College's certification process. The book meets the author's objectives.
Audience: This book is designated for the "junior to middle-grade" trainee in obstetrics/gynecology. The authors appear to be credible enough to write this encompassing review.
Features: There are no illustrations, nor are they needed. No references are cited. The table of contents is well organized and directive. Several chapters have glossaries with definitions, which is important with any review text.
Assessment: I personally have not prepared for part two of the examination for certification in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Much of the material may be useful for review by U.S. medical students and residents, but there are differences in patient approach and pregnancy management when comparing the United States with the United Kingdom.
