Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Denise Daley
The Flash is a superhero with amazing speed. By day he is an ordinary man but when criminals are near, Barry Allen dons his red suit and turns into the fastest human on the planet. When the Clock King threatens to stop all of the clocks in the world, along with all of the technology that depends on them; the Flash moves into action. He travels from country to country trying to prevent the catastrophes that the Clock King has triggered, but will speed alone be enough to stop a nuclear reactor from melting down or a runaway train from barreling down a busy city street? The action is nonstop in this thrilling and fast paced story. There are several bright and colorful illustrations but this is a chapter book, not a graphic novel. Although younger readers may be drawn to the superhero concept, the difficult vocabulary may be a challenge. Words like chaos, mayhem, intercom, and nuclear reactor are just a few of the terms that will make this book difficult for some middle readers. This book is part of the "Super DC Heroes" series.
