Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Amy Orr
Trains named Thomas and Duck run into danger with the Troublesome Trucks in this railway story. Thomas and Duck chug up the hill and zip down the hill. The troublesome trucks bump recklessly into Duck. Duck crashes into a barber shop. Fortunately, Duck is able to slow down enough to cause only minor damage to the barber shop. No one in the barber shop is hurt. Duck is a hero. The Troublesome Trucks are picked up by Harvey and taken off the railroad. Young readers will enjoy recognizing words such as happy, sad, no, and go. This is a great read-aloud book. I recommend this book to parents who are encouraging their children to read independently. I highly recommend this book to teachers who are working on units about transportation, rules or safety. It is also useful for teachers who are working on the short "u" sound, as it repeats the words duck, up and trucks throughout the text. Reviewer: Amy Orr

Fun, quick read for my two year-old.

I like these readers because of the simple text and easy stories. My two year-old can easily memorize the words and "read" the story himself.
