Jerry Clower is one of those comedians you either get or you hate. Generally, there's no explaining why you dislike a particular comedian, you just know that he or she grates on your nerves. Clower, however, pushes those buttons more than most, possibly because his country cornball act is often either too obvious or too backwoods for city dwellers. I've made some personal peace, enough to recognize that Clower Power, with cuts like "Ole Brumey Wasn't Runnin' a Coon" and "The Ole Timey Ice Box," is a good Clower album, one that will undoubtedly make some people chuckle heartily.
