Clubber's Guide to Breaks

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - John Bush
Superclub label Ministry of Sound's update on the breaks scene breaks up a two-disc set into corresponding "party" and "chill" segments, with previous unknown Kid Kenobi displaying a good balance of tight tracks and entertaining breaks. On the first, Kenobi hits an early peak with a pair of great remixes from Stanton Warriors "Where's Your Head At" by Basement Jaxx and "Dooms Night" by Azzido Da Bass, then grabs tracks from breaks specialists like DJ Zinc, Plump DJ's, and Rennie Pilgrem. The second is intriguing as well, with a left-field track listing that sports tracks from Scientist, Brazilian percussionist Dom Um Romao, Ian Pooley, and a gorgeous remix of Lamb's "Gorecki"...
