Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"Cocorina is a delightful character, and a sympathetic one as well. The Spanish text is perfect for a read-aloud, with a nice rhythm and rhyme structure. It's the illustrations that really steal the show here–all the characters have tremendous personality, but most of all Cocorina." —Library Journal (May 2011)

Children's Literature - Erin Pelletier
Rumor has it Clucky the Hen is a bad mother. She lays her eggs all wrong, leaves her chicks in rainstorms, and forgets they are hiding when playing hide and seek. News of Clucky's poor mothering skills travel from her small hen house, to her town, to the rest of her country, and all the way out to space. But her chicks love her, and so will her readers. The rhyming text is fun for both readers and listeners with repetitive interludes. The illustrations are beautiful, bright, and engaging, bringing the reader on the ride from the henhouse to space along with Clucky's bad reputation. The ending is clever and satisfying. The youngest picture book audience will love this book for the farm animals and the rhyming. Older picture book readers will appreciate the good story and humor. This imperfect mommy hen will captivate little ones have them rooting for her to succeed. Reviewer: Erin Pelletier
