This is a very stylish, well-designed book, but thankfully, it goes beyond that -- the best part of it is that the recipies and advice are extremely useful. I've made a number of cocktails and a lot of food out of this book, and everything has turned out really well. It's also given me some great entertaining ideas I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. There are a lot of awful drink recipie books masquerading as true cocktail books out there, but they're almost always dated, dull, inauthentic, and filled with rotten-tasting drinks. You can't go wrong with this one -- I highly, highly recommend it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I have to say I'm surprised. A little hobby of mine is keeping up with all the new entries to the entertaining genre. This is one of the freshest, most helpful books I have come across in years. In addition to the recipes (which to my eye appear both simple & elegant), the authors offer up marvelous, well-indexed tips on how to really throw parties (not the overdone fluff you get in many of these celebrity caterer vehicles), a fascinating history of cocktail entertaining, delightful personal anecdotes, and the best looking drink recipes I've seen in a great while. Overall, a fun, young and very relevant take on a genre that much needed revitalizing. I am not often moved to write these reviews and I would recommend this to anyone even remotely interested in getting some good ideas for their next party. Cheers! Was this review helpful?
