Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"A smile stays with you as you turn the pages of this book; an actual chuckle might even escape. …As number books go, this is one of the best." —Curledup.com on Coco Counts
Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
If you have an alphabet book then it makes sense that you might also pair it with a book about numbers. This one is different in that it features Coco, a fluffy little pompom chick in a variety of scenes. On the opening page Coco has a bright pink bow sitting on the top of her head and with her head cocked she states, "If 1 chick is good," then on the following page the sentence is finished with "are 2 chicks much better?" The text is fairly creative and the number of chicks in each scene matches the number being presented. That offers an opportunity to count the chicks. After moving from one to ten, the book then takes a quantum leap by presenting 100 chicks on the final page. Only Coco keeps her pink bow, but one other chick sports a pair of sunglasses. Adorable!

This is the cutest counting book. Rather than just count objects on a page, Sloane's text asks questions and the numbers tell a story. Great images! It's amazing how little chicks can have so much personality! A great gift for a shower or birthday.
