Editorial Reviews

Cover - Charles Sasser
"Raw and Gritty. Only a cop can write about the cop's real world. Neece is the next Joseph Wambaugh--with more edge."
Cover - Craig Roberts
"A gripping tale written by someone who [knows] the inside workings of a major city police department. A real page turner. Gary Neece is the next Nelson DeMille when it comes to police thrillers."

I really LOVED it! It is a bit dark and violent at times, but I liked the main character (Jonathan Thorpe) very much. There were enough twists and turns to keep me guessing about what just happened and what was going to happen next. It is action-packed, and the ending is AWESOME!

I made the mistake of starting this book at night and had to switch to another book after the first chapter. The story started with a bang and was very graphic in the description of torture. While it is well written, I wasn't ready for such a detailed and shocking story line. I would like to have seen a review that mentioned that and been either better prepared or waited to get the book. Again well written, just very graphic.

Excellent writing. I'd hate to be the person who was bored by this. It must be awful to find no joy in a well-told story. What makes you happy?

Completely enjoyable read that was very hard to put down. Mr. Neese, my hat comes off to you. You are a master story teller. I purchased your second novel within minutes of completing this fine book. Please don't keep us waiting too terribly long for more. Thank you

I couldn't get into slow starting, doesn't explain anything going or why the person is doing what he is doing

This author has an amazing ability to polish a harrowing tale with unapplauded humor. I found myself giggling at his wry humor at the most unexpected times. It seems to me, that while many good authors spend too much time on the details, Neece could actually afford more time expanding his storyline. This book jumps right into the story and never let's go of the tension. If this is his first go, I can't wait to enjoy watching him develop his craft.
