Romina Wilcox’s Cold Eyes Will Send a Cyber Chill Down You

Romina Wilcox’s Cold Eyes Will Send a Cyber Chill Down Your Spine

Joanne Gravitz is used to being the smartest person in the room. Her new computer security program, Cold Eyes, has placed OmegaSoft, Inc. among the Silicon Valley elite, and solidified her role as one of the company’s rising stars. Therefore it is no surprise when the FBI asks for her help in solving a high profile cybercrime case. Gravitz agrees, but she has no idea that her orderly world is about to be shattered.

The case involves the murder of world renowned AIDS researcher, Professor Brett Russell. Russell’s lifeless body had washed ashore on the very morning he was to announce his groundbreaking medical discovery to the world. On the night of his death, his computer servers were also hacked into, and that’s where Joanne Gravitz comes in. The FBI believes the two crimes are connected and is hoping that Gravitz can use Cold Eyes to track down the culprit. Not one to turn down a challenge, Joanne is soon hot on the trail of a person known only as CyberGod, an evil genius that even she may not be able to outsmart.

Cold Eyes has all the components of a must-read thriller: murder, mayhem, lies and love. I felt like I was right there with Gravitz as she raced against time—and her fears—to catch CyberGod before he can kill again. And every time I thought I had the story figured out, that illusion was dispelled with the turn of the page.

Cold Eyes will leave you wanting more of Joanne Gravitz. Luckily, she returns in Wilcox’s follow up cyber-thriller, The Calendar, also currently available on Barnes & Noble.

Cold Eyes is a MUST READ!

Cold Eyes by Romina Wilcox is one of the most refreshing suspense novels on the market today. Wilcox effectively builds three dimensional characters and weaves an unpredictable plotline that will keep you guessing until the very end. Heroine, Joanne Gravitz, is a strong, appealing woman with enough vulnerability to enable the reader to identify with her humanity. Like Sue Grafton's heroine, Kinsey Milhone, Joanne Gravitz is a character that is substantial enough to star in a series of suspense novels. This reader is certainly eager to see Gravitz surface again. Another of Wilcox's strengths as an author is her ability to effectively write in different characters' points of view, both masculine and feminine, without jolting the reader. She capably shows us the entire cast of Cold Eyes' characters and makes them quite believable. There is never a dull moment in Cold Eyes. Each page demands that the next be read. With Cold Eyes, Romina Wilcox has established herself as a world class player in the mystery genre.

    Cold Eyes

Its hard to believe this is the author's first book. I really enjoyed reading it from page one till the end. Its a mix of CSI and Criminal mind, except the villain in Cold Eyes is more sophisticated than the two series. The characters are more real. I look forward to reading her next book.

    cyber suspense

Cold Eyes is a cyber suspense novel with many interesting components. There are many characters that are involved with finding the killer of a prominent doctor in Northern California. The main character is a Silicon Valley computer expert, Joanne Gravitz, who is helping the FBI locate the killer along with the local police force. This book is a good and fast read. The finding and arresting of the killer comes down to the last minute. My only concern is that the author lacks self confidence in her heroine and her other characters. As if her heroine is unable to carry the book along to its completion. Romina has her characters explain every nuance and they question way too much instead of letting the action take them where they need to go. The author has all her characters speaking in the same voice without their own personalities. I know this is her first effort and by far it is a good one. I would read her second book to see how far she has come.

    Cold Eyes

Cold Eyes is a work of fiction with many hard facts. It¿s multicultural, with many types of personalities, and it covers many angles that I could write about. With its many twists and turns, this book kept me guessing and deprived my sleep. Romina Wilcox did a great job in keeping the identity of the villain, but most importantly, I was shocked when the motive was revealed. Cold Eyes was a software developed by Joanne Gravitz to catch the location of the hacker¿s activities. A hacker whom investigators believed was also responsible for the murder of the prominent researcher, Dr. Brett Russell the day he was to reveal his medical breakthrough. But, there was another meaning to this title relative to the color of the antagonist eyes which had something to do with the secret that Dr. Dobbins kept for many years. I truly enjoyed reading every character in this book, particularly the central protagonist, Joanne Gravitz. Romina developed an interesting character and the strength of the story lies in this beautiful, intuitive, educated woman who fell in love to a handsome doctor. She was glamorous yet practical, strong yet vulnerable. She is a woman of complexities whose life (both in love and in career) were realistic not a fairy tale.

    outstanding

I love to read mystery books, and this one rates right at the top of my list. I think it was very well written for your first book Romina. I can't wait to read your next one! The story line was great and you kept me in suspense through most of the book. I love to read books with a lot of action and suspense. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Great job!!!

Great Plot, Great characters, I can totally relate

I truly enjoyed reading this book. It has enough action, drama, emotions, and...what an excellent ending. I particularly like how Romina Wilcox developed her characters, particularly the heroin. Joanne Gravitz is the women of this generation: great career, talent, beautiful in her own special way, and, what I like about her is that she has FLAWS. Flaws that I can totally relate. She fell in love with a handsome doctor who saved her life...but became the subject of an investigation. And their love grew through Internet communication. (No, it wasn't cyber dating.) Should she listen to her brain or her heart. Though the love-affair was not the main plot in the story, Cold Eyes had many different angle. A murder mystery, a cyber-hacker, corporate crime, intrigued, plane sabotage, secrets, and the author did not fail to keep me at the edge of my sit. And yes, what a shocking ending.

A gripping look into the possiblities of cyber crime

This is an unbelievable first effort for Romina Wilcox. Her particular background in internet security gives credibility to this suspenseful novel. The rich character development helps you be a virtual player as this thriller unfolds with some amazing twists. Although one THINKS one knows 'who-dun-it', the reader is left hanging until the very end. Readers will hope that this author is busy with a second novel after feeling the thrilling chill of 'Cold Eyes'.

    Cold Eyes

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has a very clever plot and the technical did not distract the story. I had an idea who the ¿murderer¿ was, but changed my mind a few times. This was what kept me going and this book robbed me off some sleep. It has a very complicated plot that will make ones shivered with shock particularly when the motive was revealed. I couldn¿t believe it. Those Cold blue Eyes! I hope to find more books written by Romina Wilcox.

    Hard to put down

Once I started reading Cold Eyes I could not put it down. It is a very complex story that grabs your interest near the start. The characters are very well developed. I would recommend it to everyone. Of note, I loved the ending...it made me cry.
