Great Book. Great Characters. Great Story.

I was recommended this book by a friend and I was glad she did. This book has it all. Great characters and a great story. I loved how the author kept me as the reader turning the pages trying to figure out what happened next. I laughed, I cried and I loved this book.

    Best book I've read, ever!

Let me first introduce myself to you, as a reader. I am not a ¿Reader¿, I¿ve known people who would rather sit and read a book, taking weeks to get to the climax. I¿ve always been the type to watch movies instead to get through the beginning, middle and end quickly. Time was of the essence. In the amount of time it took a friend to read one book for pleasure, I could watch a dozen or more just as pleasurable movies. That¿s what I thought at the time. Two books have truly opened my eyes, Stories I wouldn¿t tell Nobody but God, and the sequel Cold Summer Afternoon. The first took 8 hours to read and taught me a serious lesson about reading for pleasure. I read each page wanting desperately to know what was coming next, what drama was about to unfold, What new character I would meet next, I found myself falling in love with each turn of the page, with the characters in the book of course. I thought they were my friends and that I would see them tomorrow. The book ended, I loved it, and I wanted to talk about to the first person I could find. I was also left discontented, simply because I wanted more, I wanted to know what would happen to my favorite character, and what would happen to my least favorite character. I could close my eyes and be transformed right onto the pages of the book. The lesson I learned was that Rasheed Clark writes books that make you flow through quickly desiring more. I decided to purchase the second book a few weeks ago, and the day it arrived I had already completed a quarter of the book. I wasn¿t going to make the same mistake, I slowed down and truly digested everything that happened in the story, this time taking three and a half days to complete the book. The new characters will make you laugh, cry, and feel more emotions in one day than imaginable. The old characters will steal your heart, anger you, and shock you simultaneously. The author has a skill at making you laugh and cry in the same breath. There are characters that come back from the first book, but also characters who are new and very well developed as well. Let me just give you a tip, If you read this book, take your time, enjoy it, love it, and if you haven¿t already, go back and read the first one. Its worth your time!

Filled With Suspense, Drama and Laugh Out Loud Moments

I don't usually write reviews but this book deserves to be talked about. I never read a book that can juggle drama, suspense and had so many laugh out loud moments in my life. The first chapter alone is a shock unto itself that I had to read it twice to make sure my eyes weren't fooling me. I love how the author weaved each character and their story together to create one blockbuster story. Rasheed Clark is a talented writer and with this book, he definitely has a winner on his hands.

    A reviewer

I just finished Cold Summer Afternoon yesterday and I loved it. From a great story to great characters, this book has it all. I loved the characters of Melvin and Shirley. I read Rasheed's other book and was curious if he could write another good book. I definitely wasn't disappointed. This book was even better than the first and that book was the best book I thought I had ever read. Clark has a rare gift of story telling. This book should definitely be on your must read list.

I Wanted To Hate This Book But I Couldn't

I have been one of those women that have been cheated on by my boyfriend. So when a friend told me about this book, I asked what does that man know about being in an abusive relationship? I found out that Rasheed Clark knew a lot. I learned a lot about myself by reading this book. I learned that his cheating was not my fault. It's sad that a book has to tell you about yourself, but it happens. This is a must read for anyone that has cheated on their mates or has been cheated on.
