Overview

Throughout my captivity, I was never told what was going to happen next or why. This lack of knowledge was used my Master to maintain a continuous element of fear and control over me. Anytime I was taken out of the box, I never knew what to expect. Fear of the unknown was always with me as I was kept in the dark both physically and mentally.

This lack of knowledge may have been a good thing in one sense. If I had known the length of my entombment after returning from Riverside, I'm not sure I would have survived. Of course, I'm not sure even Master knew how long he was going to keep me in the box.

A few days passed then a few more. Then weeks passed followed by months. Months slowly turned into years. I would spend the next three years of my life (1981-1984) in the box sleeping, dreaming, and praying.

I have to assume my lengthy confinement in the box came about because Master was concerned he had given me too much freedom. Maybe he felt he was losing control of his slave. Too many neighbors had seen me, and questions about my status in the Hooker household were surely to arise. A fast thinking family member in Riverside may have copied down his vehicle tag number. What if the police knocked on his door on day looking for Colleen Stan? What if they searched the mobile home? Would anyone think to look under a waterbed for the girl in the box? Master wanted to keep me out of sight until the heat had passed.

The other reason for putting me into storage was Ma'am. I'm sure she wanted me out of her life, out of her children's lives, and out of her husband's life. Master was not ready to let his slave go. Cloistering was the only answer.

My daily routine soon became predictive as I was allowed out late in the evening after the girls had gone to bed. I emptied my bedpan, drank a large glass of water, and ate cold leftovers in the front bathroom. Sometimes the leftovers were true leftovers that had been out all day and the family didn't want.

I stayed up till 5 AM to finish reading this book, that finally arrived in mail.WOW. She was blindfolded & restrained, unable to move, for first 3 months, solid. She was tortured on a dailey basis, first 3-4 years, before torture, tapered somewhat. Only the few days that the guy's wife was tortured, did she get the day off from torture, but still locked in her box. Dailey, She was taken out of her box for one hour, to be fed & tortured. Suspended, with all her weight on her wrists, she was beaten, sometimes to unconsciousness. Her captor used every torture trick from violent porn books, & ideas he could think of, whipping, electrocution, burning, drowning, choking, gagged, stretched, raped, restrained, & isolated. All for his own amusement... Colleen puts you in the front seat, vividly, of times that she remembers, without being monotonous. Like us, having sex with our spouse for 7 years, you can't remember every single time you had sex. Different things that happened through torture, she tells. She tells about when she was stretched where her arm was pulled out of her shoulder socket, & device broke because the guy was putting all his weight to stretch her more. Whole chapters describing torture after torture, after torture, after torture, sessions. Jesus Christ was tortured about 1% of what she went through. Hate to say it, but Jesus Christ got off easy, compared to her. This book "is" authored by Collen Stan, herself, when she finally was mentally able to disclose her ordeal to the world. The other book "Perfect Victim" was authored by her "Greedy" lawyer, totally "DISAPPROVED" by her, and Colleen received zero benefits from that. If you're going to read about Colleen, "The Simple Gifts of Life", is the book you want. This book is not what they could prove in court, it's about what actually happened. What she experienced. "WARNING"; you will lose sleep, unless you can finish reading it early in the evening. I went to bed at 10:30PM but could not sleep, so decided to stay up & finish reading it. This is Heavy Duty, & real facts.
