This would be a highly useful book for travelers to Croatia and give readers a good overview of the language; however, the distinctive characters of Croatian, the letters c and s with diacritical marks and a special d with a slash do not show in the text of the sample of this book. They show only when charts have been reproduced as graphic images, but not in the basic conversations and grammar lessons. Croatian isn't Croatian without these. Instead the reader gets question marks sprinkled through the Croatian texts. It seems like there would be fix for this. In the meantime, the high price of this title and this real problem with a basic Nook e-reader makes it impossible to recommend this title for purchase as an e-book. Perhaps someone with a newer reader could check to see if this problem has been solved in newer versions of the Nook?
