    Turks will laugh at you

    Don't be fooled by the word 'colloquial' and the expensive price tag. This book/tape set is terrible. I purchased it in order to surprise my Turkish husband with my ability to speak Turkish before taking a trip to Turkey. After studying the tapes for a month, I tried out my newfound language skills on my husband. To his horror, I was speaking like a back-woods trailer-dwelling inbred moron. The phrases that they teach you on the tapes are totally inappropriate. Turkey is a very formal culture- stick to the basics.
