Seeing red? Feeling blue? Or even a bit green? No worries! This beautifully designed, fully illustrated book makes it easy for anyone to express themselves though color. Strangis an award-winning interior designer with over 20 years of experience goes beyond simple paint schemes to show how the combined colors of walls, trim, furniture, fabrics, and accessories can give every room a unique personality. From bright and bold to cozy and comfortable, this indispensable guide offers a rainbow of fresh and fun ideas for every budget. Color Idea Book is the most complete source of ideas and inspiration for adding color to any room in the house.
Choosing the appropriate color palette to enliven a home's decor can be a daunting task for an amateur, but these two books will make the challenge easier. Interior designer Chinn supplies some 180 color schemes, each with swatches of color, fabric, and flooring. The page layout, with fabric swatches along the page fore edges, allows for easy access to the ideas. Unfortunately, only a few photographs show how color, fabric, and flooring are used in an entire room. However, interior designer Strangis includes a multitude of photographs depicting various rooms with captions that clearly point out how to combine the elements into a pleasing decor. Interspersed throughout are full-page photographs of a room, which are accompanied on the facing page with color and fabric swatches that show in better detail how to create a look. Both books are recommended for public libraries.
