I am constantly looking for the most up todate and detailed maps for use in planning backpacking trips in Colorado. The Colorado Atlas and Gazetteer is a must have in my opinion for those who want to get out into wilderness and parks of Colorado. The detail is excellent and up to date. I plan trips with GPS maping software and use a Garmin GPSMap60csx unit, and love this atlas for making copies of trails and overlaying the copy in the GPS mapping software. The map pages are small enough to be able to copy on a standard scanner and the detail is sharp enough to enlarge and get the excellent detail. The maps are up to date and comprehensive and the Atles is always my first and last verification of the trails I take for the first time and my most trusted cross-reference to verify other sources.
The only caution I make is that the print is small and would recommend keeping a magnifying close at hand. For my use this is a positive, but some might find it more difficult than a larger atlas or flat maps.
I highly recommend.
