He believes that life was simpler for young people then and has gotten unnecessarily complicated and confusing now. In his exploration, he discovers that in Christmas metaphysical awareness that transcends intellectual understanding began for him and provides the basis for grasping the spiritual in the unseen which is the basis for faith. That sense grows in recognizing God's presence in the grandeur of the created world.That the culture in his youth was more traditional, and God was still a presence and an important factor. Through a conversation including places, relationships, history, and regular life, he realizes that the order and relationship of the physical and metaphysical is understood and obvious before being learned. Unless taught to be blind to this reality, we experience it. Our minds grasp it early. We live in the physical world, but all our experience and understanding are in the unseen, metaphysical, the most important part being the spiritual. We live internally and cannot truly escape that there is a God and that the only true explanation for how we are to connect is through Jesus Christ.
