Overview

In conjunction with our 90th anniversary, the Junior League of Denver is excited to announce the publication of our 5th cookbook, Colorado Classique.

As varied as the scenery is in our beautiful state, Colorado's culinary landscape is equally diverse. Colorado Classique features a collection of recipes from the casual Apres Ski Beans to the elegant Truffled Gnocchi. A memorable meal is often one that is exciting to the eye as well as to the tongue. Our partnership with Souders Studios captured these distinct flavors throughout this book in over 70 mouth-watering photos featuring some of our favorite recipes.

We are introducing beer flavor profiles provided by Boulder Beer Company, Colorado's first microbrewery. You'll learn whether a pilsner or a malt will be the perfect match for your meal. If you prefer wine, The Vineyard Wine Shop has provided wine pairing suggestions including details on why a particular wine will compliment your recipe, for example, whether it has fruity or earthy notes that enhance the flavors of the dish.

Also new are culinary tips from Dean Jorge de la Torre of Johnson & Wales University!

Another amazing cookbook from the Junior League of Denver! It has only been out a week and so far I have prepared: Fire and Ice Watermelon Salsa Sun Dried Tomato Hummus Tomato Mozzarella Stacks Blue Cheese Crumble Confetti Salad with Mint Corn and Avocado Salad Margarita Chicken with Corn Cilantro Salsa So far everything I have made my family ate up! Like all Junior League cookbooks the recipes are foolproof. Can't wait to get back in the kitchen!

I have used to previous Junior League Cookbooks for many years and always find something valuable in them. The present books were iven to family and friends as birthday gifts. I was fortunate enough to get John Fielder to sign them for me and that made them even more special. Since I am a widower I just wish there were more recipes with meals for one or two people as it is sometimes difficult to reduce portions for fewer people.

All of the Colorado Junior League cookbooks are outstanding. They are well researched and the recipes all amazing. However, there seems to be a quality control problem with the books. The Colorado Cache cookbook had binder problems - mine broke and I eventually had to replace with a paperback copy. Pages pulled out and soon my index was a thing of the past. I purchased four copies of the newest book for myself and for wedding gifts. ALL had ripply pages. I brought them back and every single copy in my local Barnes and Noble had ripply pages. I had to wait for another shipment. Other than that problem, which I think is pretty major, the Colorado Junior League cookbooks are a must have.
