Diamonds are for never: Robbers knew that a woman had some very valuable diamonds. They waited until she was away on holiday and then burgled her house. They searched high and low but they could not find the diamonds. What had she done?
The answer may seem hard at find at first, but solvers who can think unconventionally, and look past the obvious, will figure it out—and every other puzzle too.
Answer: She froze each diamond in a separate section of a tray of ice cubes, where they were very hard to see.

It made you think out of the box but a lot of the scenarios were totally ridiculous. They defied any logic and you could come up with endless solutions given some of the scenarios. I was not happy with the book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I am something of a puzzle junkie. I won't go so far as to say I'm brilliant at solving these entertaining logic puzzles, but on average I fare rather well. A good lateral thinking puzzle should challenge the user into thinking in ways that are unorthodox, uncomfortable and sometimes new. The best puzzle writers understand if the puzzle is too long it becomes too convoluted and too short is either pretentious or childish (depending on the puzzle). I've gone through nearly every mystery/verdict/outcome/story type lateral puzzle book I've found. This book was the first of its kind that I became so frustrated with that I gave it up halfway. Thinking outside of the proverbial box is one thing, making wild and fantastical assumptions based off of nothing is insanity and that is what these puzzles seem to think a reader should do. For a means of training your brain to think in new ways, don't bother with this book, you will only give yourself a headache. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
