When I purchased this book I first went through and admired all the lovely quilts - all such treasures in originality. As I wandered and admired, I kept thinking 'there is no way I can do this technique'. But, even though I had no previous experience in strip piecing, I wanted to give it a try. So, I began by reading through the book as I would any instructional text book. I must say Beth's section on color theory is worth the cost of the book. I haven't read anything this complete and detailed since college art classes. And it makes more sense now than it did in college. Then on to the Bargello process and selecting fabrics. This section was great because it not only explained 'how to' but 'why' as well. I soon grabbed ahold of Beth's 'trust me' approach and followed her wonderfully detailed instructions, step by step. A couple of times I looked at the quilt, in progress, and had some doubts but kept going. My Star Kindler quilt is almost finished and it is beyond my highest expectations. It's fabulous! This book gave me the feeling and confidence of having my own personal teacher leaning over my shoulderWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
